I crashed my raptor v1. The main frame is cracked at where the boom attaches. The boom is obviously gone. The tail fork is also destroyed. Clutch and bell needs replacing. And main gear is stripped.

Engine and electronics are all fine. I don't know if the main shaft is bent or not.

I can buy all the parts I need to fix it for $100.

But someone at my field say I should just buy a new raptor v2 kit and use my engine and electronics on that. But that's a $400 kit.

Should I just fix my v1 the cheap way or should I upgrade it to a v2 for $300 more?

Thanks

Since you said the kit cost $400 I assume you have a 50. The answer to your question depends on the budget. If you have the extra $300 by all means dump the V1. Although the V1 is not a bad helicopter it has all kinds of problems that have been solved by later versions. The V1 problems include, but not limited to, the clutch, head, and tail rotor hub. If saving for the new kit is going to keep you out of the air for the rest of the summer then fix the V1 and buy a V2 when you have the money.

thanks, is there any aftermarket canopy I can buy for the v1 raptor? I really don't like the stock canopy.

Why not get the TITAN upgrade?
