So this is an update to my Brushless Blade CP build .

If anyone has read any of my other posts then you would know I have a Blade CP running a separates set up with a brushless motor and 10 A ESC
The first motor i tried was one I had lying around the house it was an E-Flight 370 / 4100 KV motor , and that motor was dead after a crash into a wall. I had hit throttle hold but the motor still was F*KD its not burned its just damaged inside . 1 motor dead .

The next day I was hovering the T_rex around the front yard When my motor shut off , it was sceeming hot and quite dead ( see my post about this incedent in the T-REX forum ) . Tis one is a big mystery still .
2 motor dead

The next day I bought an E-flight 370 / 3600KV for my Blade CP , the heli flys better with this motor with the same 8 tooth pinion . after about 5 flights on the new motor the heli was trimmed out and I had the revo mix set good .
next day was flying around after 3 packs , I lost orientation when the heli went in front of some dark trees , it was about 15 feet from me and about 4 feet off the ground it went into the ground sideways . I hit throttle hold as quick as I could.
Damage report ; main shaft bent , flybar bent , main gear stripped ,
OH AND ONE DEAD E_FLIGHT BRUSHLESS F*CKING MOTOR
this motor is not fried iether its just F*CKD inside and wont turn .
3 motor dead .

Ive just about had it , how the heck can this be , obviously these e-flight motors are garbage , and if they cant survive even a minor crash I dont know what the hell e-flight is selling them for .
I cant afford 75 bucks every time i crash my blade CP .
Why my t=rex motor died I still dont know but Im mad about that too ,

3 MOTORS DEAD in less than 5 days , can anyone beat that ??

It might be a good time to learn to wind your own. I'd bet the magnets came loose. Commercial motors have a habit of that because the guy glueing them in couldn't care less. When the motor gets hot the glue releases. You can actually build some pretty outstanding motors using the old parts. I've reglued magnets in a couple and had to resolder wires in others. I'm working on a combo for my blade using rewound motors from cdroms. I was going to pick up a 430L like in my rex, but I still think I'd rather build one.

My E-flite 370 seems to be pretty durable. I've stuffed my CP into a piece of rebar, had it beat itself to death on my living room floor and even flown it through a picnic table's legs and the motor keeps on ticking.

I do have a heatsink on it and it gets a bit warm after an entire 1320 mah pack (20+ mins) but it never gets hot. I did have to flatten out my pitch to get the headspeed up with the 8T pinion I run.

How's the gear mesh? Too tight and it'll get motor temps up pretty high...

motor was cool after the flight , i like to hear that at least some people have had success with these motors, i think your right about it being the magnets coming loose , i wonder if i could repair it , hmmm

You should be able to remove the end cap if you're careful. You've got three to practice on :) . You have to be careful not to strip or break the wires. I would probably use some CA debonder to help it come free. Then if you did it right you'll get to enter the world of rebuilding. Inrunners are a little more difficult to repair, but can still be done. I'm not familiar with the e-flight motors. Are they in-runner or outrunner? From The pictures I pulled up, it looks like they're outrunners with an outside can.
