What scale was the model kit?

Hey Graeme,
It's a 1:18th scale helicopter. In simplier term, it's 25.5" long and about 5" wide. Fuselage is available at helihobby.com or darthdrk.4t.com or other hobbyshops.

Nice job. After seeing your pics I have decided on the huey scale body. Really nice work. If you have any pictures of the build. I would like to see them.

To heck with that, what do you want for the 21st Century model in the background? I've been looking for one of those for a really long time ?? :WOW
Nice paint work though!! :)

Yea the 21st century model would be ideal but they are very hard to find in the US.... Every vendor that carried them are out of stock...

I keep missing opportunities for them on E-bay. One guy's didn't sell and he said he'd invoice me on PayPal but never responded. I just missed the CIA version earlier Today for $29 because I was away.. !!!!

I bought a Darthdrk huey body and started a build thread with pics on Runryder.com in the scale forum. If any of you guys want to follow the build I'm still cutting and sanding the windows and doors but I have the homemade landing gear done....and should have it ready for paint next week....

Here is a link to my build thread on RR. http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/t306368p1/
I am waiting for the elevated tail assembly from Heliworkz to be shipped, so I'm kind of on hold with it right now...

Yeah, I've seen that thread. I've got to start a similar thread as well. Although, I've already cut out, painted, and windowed my fuse.
Take a look.

They have the scale body you want at hobby people, I saw one yesterday
But they are Heavy. I also have one My body is from Xeltronics and is molded from the 1/18 one like Darths I have brushless seperates on it.
But I would be interested in that tail system is it available yet

Yes, I would have to go 4S most likely to support such weight, but that's OK. I really like the item, it is impractical, but it is such a nicely detailed piece, I think it would make a great scale conversion, and it has been done.
I'm not terribly concerned about the raised tail.
I can't see your mechanics well enough, what are you flying under there? Is your tail installed at all?

I'm using shogun mechanics, brushless main & Tail. My body has all the detail that the 1/18 plastic one has, all the rivits etc. does darth's not have it? My buddy built one with the plastic one using the same mechanics that I'm using with the PET body Much lighter If you want to see his stuff go to Runrider look under scale for NYTurtle I helped build his Blackhawk using the 21st Century body with Eolo mechanics it flew well. So you can get that body at Hobby People I think it was like 49.00 I will take some new Pix of the hog and post later. Who makes the raise tail? If it for t-rex I did not use a rex to keep the weight down

The fuses look nearly identical. I've got another thread here called "questionable quality" The only difference I can find at a glance is the small "dorsal" fin in the front.
