Guess what! I just finished to tonight and it will be up in an hour!

The HDX gyro (same as Telebeee, Align, etc) was a mother to leanr and set up but I think this will help many people that have been asking for help setting this gyro up!

Stay tuned... it will be up tomight in about an hour.

darn stubborn bugger isn't it.how long did it take for you to get to the point of "it's coming off and the 401 goes on once the vids are done"(on the inside  )

No actually... I did get this gyro to work and work well!!!!! I am serious and I could not beleive how well it actually worked on my crappy test hover with wires hanging everywhere (and some glitches)!
NO... it aint a 401 but for this little crappy heli it worked DAMN well!

Ya know if you get this POS gyro set up... It aint too bad really! I did some power climbs and SLOW ASS flips and the gyro held dang it...... Suprised me actually...

thanks a lot. I just got the telebee gyro for my blade pro today. it works ok, but not as good as I thought it would.

Question though. We are adjusting drift out of the gyro right, and not out of the servo, because I am going to hook up a servo (in place of the 3/1 rudder esc) just so that I can adjust the drift out.

I still use this gyro on one of my Trexes, it sure can be very stable if you set it up allright!

Yea.... it suprised me... Jeroen... you still get a little drift just hovering? I mean it aint bad but I still get a TINY bit of drift? I can trim it out but it seems to change as head speed does.

Any idea when you will have a flying video?

Absolutely......there's no way I get this gyro 100% driftfree. That's the problem if you get used to a 401, everything else is just less.
Whenever I take the bird with the Telebee gyro (Same as Align) out flying the little drift doesn't bother me anymore.

Good idea ! Let me know how it works for you and I will Try a gyro on my Blade Pro again. I tried The Eflite G-90.Should be the same as this align/telebee/helidirect style. I felt like it didnt work well w/ my tail motor. But I didnt check the "CREEP" !

I did in fact try to dial out the drift with a servo. Flying in my living room with absolutely no wind, it drifts just a but hair, much better then how it was when I first hooked it up.

I am still getting the gain correct though because outside in a breeze it can wag quite a bit with gain at 50% and then not hold well at all at 45% and I can't find a setting in between thats balanced.

I also noticed if I lift hard it noses left.

But overall its a big improvement over the 3-1 gyro. I've gained quite a bit of confidence with it, so much so that I will practice my hovering outside in the wind, and even today I flew down my hallway into my living room and then back, albiet all tail in :)

Keep in mind though, this is my first flying model, first gyro etc etc. But I have a 450se that I am in the process of building.

Sorry, could you be more specific? I don't understand what you are saying.........(That happens often to me on saturdaymorning)

In Bob's video on setting up the gyro, he adjusted the drift out with subtrim by watching the servo horns.

Well I have a similar gyro hooked up to my Blade Pro, but still using the tail motor. Well it drifted like crazy. So I used a servo and subtrim to get most of that drift out, then plugged it back into the 3-1.

But if you adjust the travel of the servo that won't change the output of the gyro, so you still have a problem. Or am I missing something here?

I think what he's saying is,with his motor driven tail it would drift since he has no reference as the motor driven tail just does it's thing.he put a servo in place of the esc and set it up per the vid so the servo would hold center(reference item set for no drift) than reconnected the esc.

Ok, I don't know the setup of the Blade Pro electronics, but if it works for you, that's great!

Yo Bob I also want to say that it is a very good thing that you are doing to help alot of people that are new to the wonderful world of Helis. I myself found the video disscussion on setting up servos and hitting on each topic only enough to put people on the right path. Now for my question I have two Helis now after I started upgradeing my Blade. Now it is a complete HDX 300. My problem is with the main shaft pully. I have the set screws very tight and the main gear has alot of slop it has probably 3/16 of play. I was very careful with the anti rotation sleve as it is still very tight as the day i got it. Can you think of anything that would cause the front drive pullly to never seat up with the s main shaft it just continuew

I had to add a washer above the pulley to get it to seat tight against the lower bearing.

I can now see how this maybe a frustrating build for you Finless(as you said earlier).Package this week another next week, etc.Kinda takes the "fun out of it"since you never know how the mfg wants the final product to look, unlike with the others you have done"here is a box of goodies, all inclusive, put it together".
Nothing like a work in progress "A"

This looks interesting, is it small enough to fly in the house or in a garage? I really want to get the pocket zoom heli but who knows when it will be out. Its so windy around here that it would be nice to have something that I can hover in the garage and learn a little bit, maybe do some flips and such if I get to that stage
