Anyone try a CC 85HV esc on an Ion yet?

Well not to sure I am going to be real fond of this Hacker esc on this Ion. Maybe it will be ok, maybe not to my liking. None the less a friend of mine has a CC 85HV I could try. Now before I create myself a possible horror story has anyone tried this on an Ion yet and if so did it work or will it be ok etc., I know the amperage ratings are well within guidlines of an Ion... I see more than a few posts about 110 but none really of the 85... If anyone is using this esc on an Ion or knows anything about it, I'd love to hear about it, thanks.

I have a HV110 and after download the new 1.52 and talking to the tech's at the factory. The HV 110 works great, very slow start-up can be programed almost makes the heli look scale on startup.

Ok but what about the governor, I know the startups have been fixed , but it would be nice to know how the governor is holding as well as how it is handling amp pulls when really pushing the heli into some 3D moves.

hey shawn, i have used an 85 since they first came out. some issues long time ago with the beta versions but no problems since they sent me an upgraded one. flew the ion 3 times today with the 85. the start up isn't the greatest, i have not downloaded the latest versions though. i spin the blades by hand before i start. esc is never warm after my 8 minute flights and i don't go easy on it. i mash full power when i need it. if needed i'll send you the settings i use. it's better than the hacker i suspect but maybe not as good as some of the others. i fly a Schulze in my F3A pattern plane and love it but choose the CC as Schulze makes an 80 amp or a 160 amp esc. one too small and the other too big i thought.

And the governor part of the esc works well though? Through full climbout and decend do you hear any indication of overspeeding or bogging etc..?

I'm using a 85HV on my ION and full power climb to fast descent there's no hunting or variation on rpm, I'm very happy with mine...

I would be curious as to what firmware Darren is running. I bet it is older pre 1.5.1 and also possibly in AIR mode??? I would be curious to know for sure though.
