Hi all
My new toy is allmost complete i just need the tail servo (orderd 10 days ago and it only got posted today grrrrr).
Its a furion 450
I have converted the standard head myself, but as soon as the mikado head hit`s the market i will get one for it.
The mini vbar is installed under the boom, I have allready programed the rotor head within the vbar, there is a file for download on the Vstabi forums but my rear servo is on the oppersit side and the main unit on the file (on the forums) is above the boom.
so i have made my own setup.
Atm it is running 325mm radix but i think i will fit a boom extention and up it to 350mm to make good use of the power.
The 2 wires you can see hanging down is #1 the ESC connection and the second wire is an extention leed so i can power the vbar up useing a nicad to program it.
I cant wait to get it flying it should be a fun little machine.
This is a couple of pics of the build so far.

DL Image resizer, after that right click on any image you have and resize to size you like and still maintain excellent clarity.
Nice job on Furion, 6S?? Is that not real nose heavy with such a configuration, or are you just teasing us with that? :D

Thanks shawn ill give it a go.
Yeah it is on 6s 1600mah at the mo, it is just a touch nose heavy not much though but i think once i add the tail servo it should ballance out.
If i find its still nose heavy i will drop it to 1300mah, I hate adding dead weight to make them ballance.

It says it does not work with my O,S vista ultimate:arggg:
Microsoft Office Picture Manager is another option
It's an optional component of Office so if you have Office but not Picture Manager
then insert the Office CD and select Picture manager
Google Picasa is another option

I suppose you've already checked out the MA Electric forum. xcraftllc is flying a Furion with exactly the same setup, 6S and flybarless. (don't know about the ESC and motor).
I am working on a 4S Mini VBar setup.

Thanks, yeah its not a cheap setup but ive now owned about 5 different 450 class helis and i have spent about half the money on each of these and not been happy with them, so i decide to bite the bullet and make a little rocket ship lol.

Thanks James.
I would have loved it, to have been a little logo 450, but ralf said this will never happen so it had to be the next best thing.
The choice was between the furion or a rave.
I allways catch my tail blades and the rave has a TT tail and i could not find any videos or info on anyone seting up a rave with more than 4s so the furion it is.

Ivor you made a smart choice, imho for 450 class my Furion was a much superior heli to the Rave to be hoenst.

I agree the Furion is the best 450 out there. The Rave is ok too, but the Furion really flies circles around it. If you upgrade the Rave to 350mm blades and go 6s or 4s then it's pretty sweet, but then it's really not an apples to apples comparison because it's a bigger heli at that point.
Good luck with the fbl Furion.

Btw, I am just finishing up a 6s flybarred Rave I'll post some pics when I get the chance
my setup is:
6sx1300mah Outrage (blue colored pack)
17 tooth pinion
Scorpion HK-2221-1630 V2
Hobbywing 40amp platinum esc (new firmware)
Bec set to 6v output
Hitec 5065 on cyclic
wr .8v stepdown for tail servo
Futaba BLS257 on tail
Boom servo mount
Rotortech 350mm blades
Spartan ds760 gyro
It's very responsive and cool running in my test flights. I am still tweaking the gyro so I haven't flown it too hard yet but the setup seems to be quite superior to my 4s Rave setup (-10 motor and 14 tooth pinion). It's got perfect balance with the tail mounted servo. The 6s has 530 watts potential vs 440 watts on the 4s setup so I am expecting great things. :YeaBaby:

Definitely one nice Furion. Nice touch with the canopy as well!

Thanks.
Ive just had it off the ground in my front room the misses is not happy:lol:
I have had to add 15 grams of weight to the tail to get it to ballance nice.
I will get a set of 1300mah pacs that should mean i can remove the weights.
hopeing to get a trim flight done tomorow after work and get a couple of flights in on it.
Some thing i was thinking off was shortning the push rod and moveing the servo further down the boom to get the c/g spot on without weights.

Fantastic heli ! Sadly enough, neither the furion or the rave are easily available down here  So difficult to get spare parts if you need something in a hurry.
It seems that the Beam E4 might also be a real decent 450. And this one is better supported in my area. I really would like to know what your idea is about the Beam E4 ? Worth the money or not ? With the best, or not ? Thx for any reply.
Edit: i didn't want to ask this in the Beam forum, because the answer would be rather subjective, I'm afraid.

HI
This may be totaly wrong but i herd the beem was going to be the MA 450 but something changed and we got the furion.
I have also been told the beem had a few small issues that have been adressed in the furion.
This may all be just roumers, i dont know.
To be fair i have not owned or flown a beem and i have not yet got enough flights on the furion to be able to comment on how good or bad it flys.
I am hopeing to finish brakeing the pacs in (2 cycles left) tomorow and get to have a blast round with it.

The 450 pro isnt that bad either! The only thing I miss are some nice slots to fit equipment or inside the frame. Futaba 2.4 RX are just a little too big.

The 450 pro flys well but doesnt have the room for the second pac.
I had a little blast of it today and boy the climb rate is unreal, i will try and get some video of it in action.

That would be cool!
But you can fit 2 3S1000-1300mah packs in front on the pro. If you have the canomod canopy it will really fit without any probs.

Yesterday i got a chance to put quite a few flights in on the 450.
I have cranked up the cyclick roll rate and it really moves fast.
Pitchs are at +/- 14 headspeed is at 3500rpm
and best of all i am now geting 6mins of blistering 3D performance with alot of room still left in the pacs, i will possibly get another 1 - 1.30mins flight out of it yet.
I still need to work with the vbar setup i have not got round to doing a trim flight yet the weather has been quite windy so i have just been useing it as it is.
I am seeing a tail twitch in the center of tictocs as you get to 0 degrees when moveing from + pitch to - pitch.
It only does this if i bang the pitch if i smooth it out, it does not do it.
I have also noticed it has a slight tail drift in fast inverted backwards flight.
I will get these issues ironed out but i really like the setup the motor and ESC temps are VERY low i would say the motor is no more than 25c just above room temp, ESC is a touch warmer but sill very cool.
The over all performance is really good.
Other than the above mentioned issues the mini vbar is working every bit as good as its bigger brother in the way it flys.
It really gives you the feeling on the controlls that you are flying a larger model.
I still have no video but i will make sure next outing i will get a flight recorded.

Nice looking Furion for sure.
Where do you get the V-Bar decals?
