First time had this problem. Raptor 50 hyper.

During any power demanding move like tic tocs, at the top of full power climb outs, or even a hard flip with a piro.

The heli makes a quick "screeeech" sound and the tail kicks hard, sometimes 360. Kinda sounds like brakes screeching for a second.

Is that the clutch slipping? liner? or dont tell me its the one way bearing.

thoughts would be much appreciated.

This Sound likes your belt is not enough tight. Check the strap, maybe it is too loose and you heard teeth ripping on pulley. If it's you strap, double check the teeth on the red pulley in the gear box and teeth on the main white gear. Some teeth could be damaged. Replace all pulley/gear of missing tooth/teeth and replace the strap too. tight the strap until you have near 5mm of gap when you push on it. Look at your manual, it's all well explained.

belt was missing teeth. Gave it a new belt.
Also removed one way bearing, cleaned up, and relubed.

I hope that solved the problem. Would the one-way bearing locking up cause the teeth to shear on the belt?

like slamming on the brakes hard on a car?

Nope!!!! It's not the One way bearing doing the problem. I think it's really the belt tension. Have you check teeth of you pulley??? If some teeth from belt is go away, you have a good chance some teeth of gear was out too...

hmmm... i will have to check on that tail pulley today after work.
I usually always run my belt pretty tight. Even seemed tight yesterday after flight.

But your right, that sound maby just be the sound of teeth ripping on pulley come to think of it.

thanks for the thoughts, will check it out

Jamie

No problem... Send us a reply to know if you had lost some teeth on gear system. Just to know...
