I had one of those, I don't think it is, without some serious work I don't think the pitch range is there for any 3D. I put the a brushless set up in mine the astro 020 and pheonix 25 on 8cells with MS carbon blades. It just didn't have much power on 8cells you could try more cells. It does fly great just don't think it's capable of 3D. I would deffinetly get with someone that has set one up for 3d and find out what mods have to be done. I tried it just could get much more than 5- 10+pitch without running out of swash travel.

Unless they have change the new kits. I don't know. But good luck anyway.

If you want performance run the Hacker B40 series brushless motors W/Hacker ESC's, Li-Ploy batts, run the stretched version ( MS 515mm blades with cut down venture 30 boom and Ikarus eco 8 tail drive belt)

I fly a Ve with a Kontronic 480-42 (4200 revs per volt) Align 35Amp speedo and a 15T pinion gear on 3S2P 4400mah lipos. I get 12 plus mins general aerobatic air time and it performs as well as an average 30 glow heli. It will need serious mods for 3D stuff. It also likes head speeds of 1800 to 2000rpm and would benifit from symetrical carbon or Glass blades as the wooden semi's I have are too floaty. It's best to put the Gyro behind the head to eliminate any interference to!
Hope this is of some use to you?
