The CP pro comes with all the upgrades that E-Flight has come out with for the Blade that is the only differance that I am aware of.

The 4 in 1 unit is setup to take a standalone gyro. They have a hh gyro for it.

...and the brushless conversion upgrade from Eflite is plug-n-play I hear.

What this means is that all the things that people are doing to make the BCP fly better are now capable with the BCPP at a greatly reduced price when done.

Basically the oppertunity to get a brushless micro with heading hold for under $400 and use Eflite parts to upgrade everything (no hacking, modifying...and great support)

Its (bcpp) a better deal in my book!

Also the CPP comes with a lipo and lipo charger

It's my understanding that the internal gyro can be turned off to allow the HH gyro, but to go brushless you still need BL esc's.

hmm thanks guys. so im getting the message that ill spend the little extra and get the plus!

also when flying my cx if i strife (like move sideways without turning) sometimes if i go to hard the bottom blade catches the gyro stabilezer breaking the gyro attachment connecting to the inner rotor rod. also destroying the blade. this happened when i was adjusting trim and it started to sink so i slamed it to the side trying to save it but i over did it. is there something wrong? you would think they would desghin it so it would be very hard to catch.

Finding info about the pro is literally pulling teeth. I finally found out that to go brushless you have to disable the onboard esc's and use separate BL esc's. The way I see it, it would be better to just use the receiver and remove the 3-in-1. Since once you go to HH gyro and two esc's you've replaced it's functionality anyway.

You don't replace it's functionality when you go brushless, you still use it for the tail motor. Mine is very power full and can do most moves but, tic tocs, autos, and anything that needs major head mass. I am waiting on a day with fluffy clouds to get some video that way you can see what is going on.

Couldn't you use a regular brushed ESC for the tail rotor? Or is there something else special going on in the box to make this work? Would seem you would just need a 6 channel receiver, brushless esc, HH Gyro and brushed esc to be done with the entire unit. If you could use the Spektrum Radio setup with it, it's receiver is even lighter and you don't have the antenna to worry about any more.

I read somewhere that Horizon was "recommending" this setup somewhere, but I have not been able to find any notes beyond a short reference in the manual pdf.

Lee

Yep, that's what I have in my CP. The brushed ESC for the tail needs to have no soft start or special programming to increase motor life or it won't work. Ask me how I know. The GWS ICS-50 works great and it can be had for about $12 from Tower Hobbies.

Hope that this is helpful.

My purpose is to go full BL, tail too, so I need to use two esc's.

Midget,

Most probably, the problem is that, that you're simply going too fast...

Since the upper rotor is totally free and only controlled by the stabilizer, it will tilt away from the direction in which you do ff.
But since you have the lower rotor tilted toward the direction of flight, the two rotor-discs eventually meet...
Especially impressive, if you go straight and fast forward for about 10m with the cyclic full forward and then just release the stick... ;)

You can make it fly fast, though, but then again, those are some manoeuvers that just go because they use some trick, as soon you go outside the envelope of what the trick's alowing you to do, it's meeting-time again...

I downed myself my Lama almost on each flight before I sold it. Why? Because I was thoroughly bored with hovering and seemed to forget each and every time that nothing else than hovering can be done...

Only one thing remains to be said:
With the Coax, you can only hover, everything else leads to blade-meetings.
If you want to do more than hovering, get yourself a real helicopter.

Sincerely from switzerland,

Daniel
