hello, i am running the align gov with dx7 and using aux2 switch as on off, my question is the governor came with the manual for a 600 nitro on head speed charting, not a 700, what number do i need to put in idle 1 in the dx7 prog mix menu for 1950 head speed, ? i have 60% for normal mode and 70 % for idle 1 and +10 for idle 2 in the prog mix menu, also is the chart work for both the 700 an 600 or is it diffrent,

Check your 700N manual, there is a chart for the governor and the 700 there. If you don't have the manual, do a "SEARCH' here for the pdf manual.

Check page 28 and 29

I have dx7 and align gov tied to aux2 the chart is different with the 700 cuz at 90% with the gov on I was getting 2050 headspeed and with the 600 at 90% I was getting 1950 to 2000, on the 700 manual says 60% 1658 70% 1811 80% 1950, 90% 2098, as you seen but to get that headspeed you want in idle 1 I would try around 83% - 90% I was running cy 710sb at the time when I checked the headspeed.

Lots of great info here. Just a little added note Justin, I didn't read the whole Align Gov instructions and had an issue.

Remember to have a throttle curve higher than 50% in Idle 1 and 2. The Align Gov will override any curve above 50%.

The Gov will deactivate below 50%, such as in normal mode where the curve goes back to 0 stick.

One other post here: do a search for programming the DX7 and Align gov to have 3 different head speeds and throttle cut-off by using the program mix. I followed one guys settings and it works perfectly, but I did have to adjust the "initial" percentage down (which affects the other two) just a hair as I did not want the high HS at Idle-up 2!

I use 1730 Normal, 1850 Idle-1 and 1950 idle-2

Here it is on another site:

the settings in the book workd great, thanks guys , but i have a weird problem, i was noticing the head speed was going high in tail slides or other fast manuevers and just on a wim flipped my aux2 switch to off and the gov kicked in??? so i went to my servo reverse menu and reversed my aux2 so all my switches are up when it should be working, ok works fine but now my gov light is red?? not green like it should be? but the gov is working now and when i flip the switch and the light turns green it stops working, i think they wired the light up backwards mabey? checked all my servo leads there all plugged in right so it has to be or am i missing something?

You may very well be flying with just your throttle curves and thinking its the Gov.

If red light is on, Gov is then off. You may not have the values correct in the mix when Gov is on.

the values are exact to my 600 settings, and it works great, sorry i posted again i forgot i already ask in this forum, but when the light is green it over revs way bad, and soon as i flip the switch from normal to idle up with the red light on it idles up like it should and green light it wont

Justin, it really sounds like you may need to re-calibrate the Gov or non sensor reading issue.

(1) When you do calibrate throttle limit setting, are you sure you have a linear throttle curve while calibrating? Try calibrating in normal mode with 0-50-100 curve and deactivate (INH) the Norm Mix out just for calibration only.

(2) Check If the magnets are truly installed correctly by turning the blades counter-clock so the clutch bell spins while in Gov mode green light is on. See if green light flashes on and off after every rotation over the sensor.

I had a similar problem and the gov was not working and referring back to the throttle curves in mode Idle 1 and 2 where it did work fine but on the curves. Turns out it was a bad sensor. I had damaged it by taking the engine and bearing block in and out.:(

thanks ill try a new sensor because i have re calibrated 4 times both with fling curves and linear curves and yes the green light goes out only on one magnet, i tried today and still wouldnt work flipped the gov to off mode (red light) and it works but the head speed still speeding up in tail slide, i think im just gonna go with a curtis gov, and be done with it,
