Rebuild

I am using 7.5 Ah and a 14Ah sealed Pb's for field charging. If I set Triton to charge these at 2A it never shows more than .5A on display while charging. Doesn't seem to matter what rate I set to charge at, it always ends up at .2 to .5 Amp. Can't I bump these Pb's up faster than .5 A using the Triton?

I found the Triton's pb charging to be a right royal pain. It never did what I wanted. I now use the "optimate" that I use for my motorbike - it desulphates, and does everything automatically.
How long does your Triton charge for? it sounds like the pb batteries are nearly full anyway - I know the Triton only increases amperage slowly. When the battery nears capacity it starts reducing it. It may be your pb batteries are nearly full anyway, in which case it will never get to 2.5Amps.
OR - as was the case with mine - they were sulphated from being over discharged and left in that state. My Triton would almost immediately say "Charge done" on my Pbs even though I knew they were flat.
I put my desulphating charger on them which immediately recognised they were sulphated and did it's magic (high voltage very low amperage for a while to break up the sulphate crystals on the plates)
