12z DSC port after latest upgrade ...

I just got a new 12z and was flying my sim yesterday. I did a software upgrade to the latest version and now it seems the DSC port isn't working properly. It still activates the radio when you plug it in but my sim doesn't get any signalling.

I plugged another radio in and it works fine.

It's a new 12z, I'm not exactly 100% sure it stopped working after the upgrade, can't remember.

My question is, anyone out there with a 12z and the latest software -- does your DSC port work with a sim, i.e., Reflex? Or possibly do I have a bad 12z?

Have you verified that all the settings are correctly setup for flying on the sim? It's possible the update reset/changed one or more settings or even the model that you use for simming.

Yea, it's nothing like that. Same model that I'm using in my 14mz and I went back through it. Basically just needs to be PPM and a couple channels reversed.

More info -- I turned on the TX, then one of my helis. My 611 initialized which means the 5014 got a signal from the TX. But no inputs are sent to the heli. And it goes into failsafe if I turn the TX off.

I'm thinking I botched the update or something broke. I'm rerunning it now to see what happens.

It's new, out of the box. Was working yesterday, though.

Something broke. Just tried it on another 12z and it's working great. Did the update as well.

Guess I just got a bad one. Its like the "two cpu's" aren't talking. The radio is getting signal from the TX but no inputs at all, trim, gyro, etc., are making it to the heli or the sim via DSC.

Did you make sure the update switch (tiny switch next to CF card slot) was switched back from update mod?

If you just got the 12Z within the last month. Why would you upgrade it? All the 12Z's since early July have the lastet prgramming.

I ordered it from Rick's on Monday, got it yesterday, it was the old firmware (1.02.x/1.24). The only reason I did the upgrade is to resolve the swash mix issue everybody has posted about.

After talking to Futaba, their opinion it has nothing to do with the firmware. I opted to sent it back for a replacement.

So you don't think the update caused the problem? I downloaded the update from rcfan's website but have been afraid to install it. All my helis are flying fine and I hate to screw with something that's working.

But no, it doesn't look like it was firmware related. Looks like I just got a busted 12Z.

Are any of your machines CCPM? I would look into the latest update to make sure there isn't anything affecting you.
