Anybody heard from PDC lately? Has he vanished off the face of the earth?
I´m still here Will...Often away from the surface of the Earth, but right now I am back on the surface :-).
A little update.
Haven't got too much time for the forums lately, got the minijoker some time ago and just lately got time to assemble it....I´m afraid that there will be no building tread as promised, but some pictures when it is finished.
Right now I am waiting for two parts for the kit, but it seems that Gerd is on vacation and therefore not able to send me the missing bits.
So far the minijoker looks good, but it is in the air it will have to prove its worth.
The Ion-X is back in the air with 3 x NEU 1521-1.5Y motors in stock, one is the new model. (Good service from Diversity Model Aircraft with the NEU motors) Still looks like the 60T single gear holds up good on 12S, but still premature to make a final conclusion.
The trick might as always be to have the right gear mess, and to cut/drill in the lower frame to ensure the motor is vertical.
I am about to modify all my heli´s with a little resistor to avoid the spark when connecting the battery....It is very important that damaged plugs is changed before they will damage the controller...so think people might need a heads up for either changing plugs all the time, alternative modify the plugs with a third smaller plug with a resistor until all controllers have this sparkfree feature build in.
The Joker II tail is rock steady now after I exchanged the CSM gyro with a Futaba 611 gyro, but the alu ends of the tail supports continue to break...I have ordered some support for the tail support :-).
The 3DMP tailrotor failed on the first flight with carbon blades, a known problem, so I have ordered some Joker parts to enforce it.
The 3DMP XL is delayed to late September....guess there is a risk for further delay.
Vstabi might be something I will look at as a winther projekt.
Maybe some pictures later if I get time.

Well so far I've had terrible service with my Neu Motor from Diversity Aircraft. They have had my motor since July 8th and I still haven't gotten it back. I did get one email from Diversity and here is what it said: "Stator wires were shorted from chafing--vibration and wires that were not supported the likely cause. Cost to replace the stator-- $100 plus shipping. We can reuse the rotor--it will require a new case and stator." I sent another email and stated that I didn't agree with this, Stephen at Diversity said he would email Steve at Neu and pass this along. I am still waiting and have heard nothing....
This was in an ION that had 12 flights on it and it was smooth!! I just don't buy this for one second. The motor was new and only flown approximately 12 times.
Help I need my motor back!!!! I am dissapointed at the lack of service and how slowwwww they are!!!!

I know it was smooth as a baby's butt when it was flying.
I can not believe it has taken so long Anson. That is bad.
xlpro (sounds like an ex-nitro MA man),
I recently sent my Ion-x Neu motor back to Diversity to have Steve Neu inspect it. It seemed to be a bit low on power and high on amps, after only about 20 flights.
The motor checked out ok but they did replace the bearings (at no cost). I took about 6 weeks to get it back, most of this was in the Neumotor shop and Steven called them weekly to get updates. Once the problem was sorted out, Neumotor kindly shipped it back to me air express, so I got it back within a few days.
I questioned Steven about whether the bearings were the only problem and he told me that if I had any further problems with the motor to just let him know. While I have not tried the motor out again (I'm pretty happy with the old stock Hacker for now) I though that their customer service was pretty good.
I think (but do not really know) that your problem might be similar to mine. If you try to use the bottom motor support mount (with the rubber) with a Neu and 50T gear, the motor rests a little heavy on the front side of the rubber. I think that this maybe puts the motor pinion out of line a bit. esp under load. I noticed a lot of white dust from the 50T secondary gear.
If and when I try the Neu out again, I intend to shift the bottom motor plate a bit more forward and go to the new, thicker 5mm (vs 3mm) motor mounts. I'm not sure what the new 5mm motor plate part number is. I've asked Chris a while ago but have not got a reply.
In other words, the problem may not be with the motor, but may be due to the mounting of it, a MA problem perhaps. Anyway, hope this helps.
Cheers,
Tom C

If the motor is sideloading the pinion a lot, it will probably cause the bottom endcap on the neu to pop off. The thicker plate should keep the motor from torquing to the side and making the pinion eat the secondary and also keeps the endcap from popping off it seems. Not a lot of testing that I know of to show results though. I went to flying single stage just because they are so reliable, simple and strong and I to had to send back my NEU Motor. Mine took about a month, and from what I hear about sending back ACTRO motors that is not to bad. I was satisfied.
That NEU is sooooo torquey that it is hard on the secondary, especially with some ESC's and especially aggravated we think by a 14MX/12Z and G3 quick RX. I know Rob (Bob00) and a couple of others added some throttle delay and I think they said it helped make the secondaries last longer.

Anson's Ion had the thicker plates along with the double stacked 50t gear setup from Chris.
The bottom plate was centered with the motor spun a few times then loosened and tightened back up so that the motor found were it wanted to rest.
I was with him for 4 of the flights and like i said it was smooth and he had not even pushed it on those 12 flights.
That might be the problem, he was TO easy on it and should have bashed it from the go. :)

Just talked to Steve Belknap Anson. You should call him if you can and he will help all he can.
Thought I would try to help facilitate you getting y our motor back, hope it works. The NEU is definitely a very powerful motor!!
