What is the best way to brake an OS 50 Hyper in the manual says 1.5 turns above normal so i am assuming that will be three full turns? How long should I run it like this befoe I start to lean it out? cheers!!

I doubt the motor will run very well at three turns open. I suggest the main needle be at two turns maybe a little less. I would not go above two turns unless your using some fuel that has very high viscosity oil and a lot of it.

Take it easy on it for a few tanks but remember for the ring to seat properly it needs to get up to temp. David is correct, I've never seen a hyper that will even stay running over 2.5 turns.

Keep an eye on the backplate temp, as the ring starts to seat it will run cooler and thats when you can start leaning it a bit. For the first few tanks hover for a minute or two then let it idle for a minute or two, its called heat or thermal cycling.

Out of all the motors I've run I had more problems with the ones I babied around on break in. I run one tank fairly rich without loading it too hard then one tank tweaking it down closer to being tuned. After that, it's time to let it rip. Over the next 3 or so tanks getting the tune to where it needs to be. So far, doing it that way I haven't had any problems with any motor 50's or 90's.

at 3 turns open I'd be surprised if it would even fire.

guys, what do you think is the high needle setting first 10 tanks, 10-20 and after this for the 50SX-H in EVO50 ? I can read zillion of different threats, but most convincable of them say forget about 2 turns, first something like 1.5 turns (1-10 tanks), 1.25 means 1 1/4 turns (10-20 or so) and then towards 1 turn (means basically 360deg). does that sounds ok for nearly sea level and 23% nitro fuel ? About the low needle I have understood nothing required as long as idling ok. Thanks,
