Wolves don't have fins. That must be how he got his name.

The Rhodesian bare breasted wedgewolf lives on the outskirts of the plane where he lurks in the bush waiting for a prey.
If he attacks he shoots away with great speed surprising his target. To maintain direction in the sandy environment he has a rudimentary dorsal fin that carves like a wedge through the sand, that's how the wolf got his name......

Bob was a major step in the evolution chain as he was the first pup with no such rudimentary fin.

Thus the name Finless.........

(btw, this also explains Bob's passion for "The Dog")

I always suspected he had a place of honor in the evolutionary chain. I didn't realize it was a step backward. I always thought missing link.

Well, that's another very interesting discussion. Bare in mind every change/mutation might have been experienced as a horrible mishap at the time, but turned out a major leap for the species in the long run........

Whaaaaaa? The vast majority of mutations are bad. Most such mutations die out immediately, some manage to live on if they don't do any harm, and a very small number are improvements and win out over those of the species that don't exhibit the characteristic over time.

Ok, ok.......I mend to say SOME mutations instead of every mutation.
The whole evolution is based on that principle...........

The story has appeared before. I don't recall if it's in this thread, but here goes...

Bob likes to dive. When getting back into the boat he gives a good strong kick with his fins to get up over the side. One day they were drinking on Catalina, and Bob fell off the dock. His buddies laughed when he couldn't get his drunk butt up into the boat because he was "finless".

hahahaha some great story but is that realy how he got his name or are u making it up hehehehehehe

You fail to recognize that "Finless" has never managed to mutate nor spawn a sub-species since the break from "The Rhodesian bare breasted wedgewolf". Therefore, we still can't determine if the evolutionary change is a monumental improvement or a horrible mishap of its generation over time. However, he is perpetually challenging previous Helicopter flight theory currently.

Since Bob modifies pretty much everything he touches, why should the humpback be any different ?

I thought it was short for "Dorsal Fin-less".
:lolol

Great instructor, though.

It should have been Ventral Finless. Sorry for the confusion.

Keep up the good work, Finless.

I belive the word " Finless " is derived from the word " Fyn- Heli." This word was given to the warriors of the Helifreakarians of Southern New Zeland by Buildus Lotzofcrapus of the Roman Scientificus. In his travels to the island, he observed the" rite of passage tests" that the young warrior candidates went through. One such test was the young men would tie four palm fronds to a stick and " pitch them in such a way " to when they jumped of the 100 foot cliff of passage, if the pitch was right, the warrior would spin down safely landing to great applause, and granted warriorship in the tribe.

Everyone knows Bob's family tree can be traced to Buildus. So thats how he got his nickname " Finless"
