Hi,
This is my first scale project and first posting. Been lurking unregistered for a couple of months. Been flying a little over a year. Current stable is a T-Rex SE and stretched Raptor 30 V2.
I am fitting my Raptor 30 into a Funkey Hughes 500 50 size fuse. The instructions show that I need to cut 38mm from the rear tube. If I get a Titan boom and belt would that still be needed? I've already got the 50 size boom and belt installed. Also, my raptor is still running the OS 37 motor. If I keep the 550 blades, will it still fly fine with the big fuse? I have a 50 motor, but don't have a mount or blades for it yet and I am almost done building and want to test fly with the 37 if it will work. I use 30% fuel with the 37. If it works good, I might keep it in there and use the 50 in an EVO.
So far the build is going good. The kit seems to be good quality and went together fairly straight forward. Directions could be better, there were a few times that I had to scratch my head to figure out what part they were describing since there was no parts list. I started working on it last night and I just have the windows and fitting the mechanics left before testing. Once everything tests good, it will go for paint. One thing I did different from the instructions was to use blind nuts and 2mm allen head screws to mount the front to back portions of the fuse. I also plan to screw on the front windshield using button head screws so it will be removable. And adding an 8 oz fuel tank to the front, for longer flights.
Anyone have problems with oil soaking the plywood in the exhaust pipe? Looking for a solution for that one. Seems like oil could collect in there.
Thanks for your help. I'll post pics when it's done.
