This don't make sense, I am an E-heli pilot but cant figure out batteries, go figure.

There is alot of confusing data out there on these new cell types, can anyone break down for me the cell count needed to the equivalent battery align puts out?

6S2P = 12 cells total 6 and 6 serial paralleled together. this produces 4200-4400 Mah and 22.2 volts 3.7 volts 3.6Ah <== is this correct?

How many A123 systems batteries would you need to make the equivalent?
1 bat is 3.3 Volts 2.3 Ah this 6s setup would = 19.8 amps 1398 Mah or in 2p 2796 Mah

Home many Emoli batteries would you need to make the equivalent?

Bottom line, I would like more flight time, not necessarily 3d time, just forward flight some loops and slight inverted, and a significantly lower price than the FP 4900 6S1p at $299!!!!

In the A123 setup if you went to 7S 23.1 Amps 1631 Mah or 2P 3262, could this setup be used on the stock equipment on the 600? or even the 6S config ?

This is a hard one.
the 6s2p part you got right assuming 2100mah cells = 22.2volts nominal 4200mah.
the a123s have a much lower voltage so you would need probably 8 cells in series 2 sets to get the mah to give you any flight time. That makes 16 cells at 70grams a cell = 1.2kg of battery once made into packs.

Also keep in mind A123 cells are very expensive for what they are and there are very few charging options which is why there is very little uptake.

The emoli cells are 100grams and 3000mah each. To get the voltage needed 7 cells would do the trick but then to get flight time you need 2p so 14 cells to get 6000mah at a weight of 1.5kg. Then your stock esc wont cope with the extra voltage (although it is only a small amount over).

I went down this path and decided that if the stock power system was to be kept you are better off with the good packs (FP4900's).

I swapped out motors as i decided i would rather spend on a quality motor and use cheap packs. I now have a Neu 1515 running with 10s emoli cells. :smokin:

Thanks Ozace I appreciate your time with the explanation.
