Mega motor in my mx

I just want some ideas, I have a mega 16,15 3 turn motor I want to try it but I think the head speed would be so high! Has anyone put one in???

p.s. I have a MX450 with 330 carbon blades.

I have a Mega 16/15/3 in mine. I'm running a 11T pinion with 325mm blades . I could probly move up to a 12T or 13T with this setup.

I just spent two hours milling my motor mount to fit the fat mega motor screws. Now the only gear i have that fits the mega motor is a 14, now the motor and lipo are hot!! I had to drill out my 12t gear to fit the shaft of the mega motor. It flies really good tons of pop, but I wish I had more threads on the set screw. Does any one make a gear to fit the mega motor that has the same pitch of the helimax??

p.s. this wasn't an easy mod, just find a motor with the same shaft size of the heli max motor.

Not sure what my headspeed is as I don't have a tach.

I picked up my pinion gears from an Align 3 pack (HZ021T). It came with an 11T, 13T, and 15T.

I put an excell sheet in the build section that calculates hs/pinion size. Hope it helps

im setting up an mx400 an a spectrum dx6
ive got a 16/15/3 that im going to use with a 11t pinion.
i got a set of align agnm1051 hz021t 11/13/15t set from advantage hobby.com
the label is misprinted 0.5mod 2.3mm id but the pinions fit on 1/8 ''shaft
you guys seen this before?
