Has anyone out there setup their Blade CP to be used with a Futaba 9Z transmitter? If so, could I bother you to share your setup as a place to start?

Thanks,
Lee

Not a 9Z, but a 9CHP. Don't have my Tx with me here at work so can't share my settings, but don't think they'd be much of a starting point since mechanically, I can guarantee our CPs will be different. (Mine's got quite a few mods on it)

I started the same way you're wanting to, but found it to be more of a pain than to start from scratch and set it up per my mechanics. If you really want it, I'll post my setup for you, but again, I think starting from scratch mechanically and then programming the Tx from there is your best bet for success.

BTW: All you need to get the 4-in-1 talking to the Tx is a Futaba "Shorty" crystal on the right channel for your Tx. You'll need to set the modulation to PPM for that model as well.

Thanks, but the 9C is a completely different bird then the 9Z. I appreciate the offer. I'm sure with a bit of work I can figure it out. Actually, I'm leaning towards using my DX6 now.

Lee

OK, no worries.. I was about to hit the sack and remembered my offer so thought I'd pop back on to see if you wanted the setup.

FYI: I've had no glitching problems with the PPM modulation even with the BL main motor, ESC, aluminum frame, tailboom and landing gear.

Hey, not to hijack the thread or anything but I have a CP and want to use my 9Z. If its not to much trouble could you still post your settings?

9C and 9Z settings are not interchangeable. The 9C is a completely different animal.

OOps read the post wrong.

So Jesus, did you get the curves set up on yours yet? What swash type did you end up using?

Haven't gotten anywhere yet. Sorry. I'm working on getting my DX6 working first. I use that on m TREX with good results, and the programming is simpler. 9Zs are very capable, but very complicated. That's why I asked if anyone had a setup. :-)

If I get back to the 9Z I'll let you know how I make out.

Lee

Thanks, I'm working on programming mine for my Hawk Pro thismorning. I think I've got the throttle and pitch curves programmed as per the 9Z bkook. But I have yet to work on the rudder or gyro. And I hear the gyro setup is a bizatch to get working with the GY401.

Check out the video on using the 9Z from Finless in the TREX video section. It's not pertaining to a Blade, but should be helpfull.

Wow! I have been trying to figure out this radio for almost a year now for my planks(its a T9ZAP). I learned more about the radio in the first 20 minutes of the vid than I ever did reading the 9Z manual. THANKS!

Thank the Fin Man. ;-)

The 9Z is a very capable, but very complicated until you understand the "big picture" of how it works. My problem is that I only do new programs once a year or so with my planes, and I have to "relearn" every year. Would really like a 12Z, but I just can't justify those kind of bucks.

Anyway, once you get the hang of it, it's not too bad. I'm still new to helis though, so setting one up is a double learnning wammy. Mr. Finless is an awesome help though. :noteworthy

Good luck with your Blade setup. If you figure it out, please share.

Lee
