I'm new in this hobby and it's always my friends who set up my heli and radio but now I'm on my own and I need help. I have a JR12x + JR 770 Gyro + Multi-Gov + Vibe 50 which i accidentaly erase the set-up while changing model in my radio:arggg:.
1. When setting up the GAIN for the JR 770 gyro with the 12X in the GYRO SENSITIVITY mode, should I also set the travel adjust to +150% -150% as mentioned in the manual? I set up my GAIN using the GYRO SENS with AUTO Mode on and T. LOCK mode using the GEAR channel at 20% in all the flight modes (Norm, ST-1, ST- 2).
2. Do you need to adjust Gyro % gain in each flight mode?
3. I set up the Governor using the AUX 2 Channel at 100% in all the flight modes (Norm, ST-1, ST-2).
I'm not sure If I'm doing the right set-up and I need inputs before I fly my vibe 50. I watched Finless bob's videos on Gyro 101 twice but I'm still confuse and it's base on JR9303 and DX7:confused:.
I would highly appreciate all your inputs and if possible pls share to me your JR12X and vibe 50 set up (Throtle curves, Pitch curves etc.):noteworthy.
Thank you in advance.

Just finish Finless video on Mult-Gov set up and found out that AUX 2 should be tied up to Flight mode switch and % should be as follows: Normal +100%, ST-1 0%, ST-2 -100%. Pls correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks Helifreak and Finless bob!:noteworthy

ι think that on Jr you have to be 50and up...
In eache flight mode you might have a different gain in order to have better tail cause if you have more rpms in idle 1 and 2 you will need more gain
For the Gov you are correct... go to the servo monitor and when you change flight modes see if the gov bar goes up center down

MaStoRaS,
Thanks for your input. I read the 12x manual and it says under the Gyro Sens with the T. Lock mode whatever % value you input --it will corelate to the % gain. I input 20% and check it using a GY611 and it gives me a reading of 17% gain in the AVCS mode but again I'm not sure about it. In the 12x GYRO SENS you can choose either NORMAL or T. LOCK MODE but I'm not sure which is which.
Hope to hear from other 12x user on what mode they are using....

Tail Lock should be the same as Heading Hold. If you are getting 17% in AVCS on the 611 then that is a good place to start.
You should still set endpoints to +/- 150 on the travel adjust. This has to do with piroette rate and not gain. THEN use Rudder Dual Rates to reduce the piro rate. I suggesst starting at a D/R of 70 or so.
Also you want to start with about 50% Rudder Expo as the G770 is different from Futaba and other gyros and DOES NOT have any built in Expol
You CAN have a different gain in each flight mode, but you don't have to. I find that I need higher gain for normal mode and less gain for higher rpms.
I don't have a multigov, so I would take bob's word for it (I would if i had one :noteworthy)
I fly +/-11 degress pitch and about 1950 RPM in idle1 and 2050 in idle2. I am not doing 3D.

Spike 5150,
Thank you very much for taking time to read and answer my post. I had included your inputs in my radio set up...too bad where anticipating a week of rain here in southern california so i wont be able to test it until next week.
I will also make another test radio set-up by turning off the tail lock mode and switch it to Normal and placing 62% gain in my radio (as example in the 7703d manual on a Trex 600) and see how it goes.
I'm not into 3d either but would love to learn in small steps...
