Does anyone know how to quicken up the cyclic response on the hummingbird elite cp? also the pitch goes from about +7 to -1, any ideas on getting more negative pitch. the reason for getting this Heli was that it was cheap old stock with another kit as spares from the LHS, also I can't afford to get the Ali head so that isn't an option.

any ideas to do with the flybar length or the paddles would be useful.

thanks

Wow ! one at a time there folks.

It would seem that the hummingbird isn't the only thing around here that has a long response time. :D

Does this mean that you all think the h'bird should just be put out of its misery ?

You will find a good number of hummer flyers here:

This forum seems to cater more to the nitro and gas burners

I've since found out why the heli flys so sh*t, the head design is total SH*T, the blade clamps control arm is so long that the flybar angle moves about 3 times the blade angle when yoy move the flybar from flat to fully angled. because of this I think when I finish moving the dremel will be found to cut the control balls of the clamps and fit new ones about 5mm closer to the pivot and a mill or 2 up the clamp arm (its a leading control link style head). this should answer both problems as the flybar will have more authority over the direction the heli goes, the same servo input will cause more pitch and this means that (if the control balls are mounted higher)I can set the pitch to give me the same positive as now but use the extra movement to get a lot more negetive pitch. if this works well enough then i'll get some symmetrical blades and a few larger lipos.

just solved the hummingbird problems once and for all, I am going to give it to a mate and i've now got a twister cp v2 ( with the bell/hiller head its as twitchy as a fu*ked up raver on E, but its easyer to calm a heli down than to make it boogy )
