Hi, All
The question is: Do both cylinders of the engine that"s in the Bergen Industrial come up against compression at the same time? (It may be a bear to start?......especially,warm)
Or does the thing fire alternately??
The ad says that it will lift 20 pounds, is that on top of it's own weight?? Are you sure ?
And with 810mm blades, is the rotor speed down around 1000 rpm or so ??
Thanks, Have a great weekend!.................Dave[/i][/b]

No the cylinders alternate
I am sure it will lift 20#
810 blades should turn 1250

Thanks for the information, Tom.
Since I see "Stator Gator" written near the bottom of your note, Just what is a Stator Gator. I know I've seen an ad somewhere about them, but don't know what their purpose is? Are they a Govenor?........................Thanks, Dave

Sorry guys, I missed this post earlier.
The Twin does fire at the same time.
It does come with a heavy duty pull start, and yes it can be a bear sometimes, more so when cold, rather than hot. Is it impossible? Nope. although some of our muscle challenged friends have had difficulty. But once they carry that thing around a few times, they begin to build the muscle needed to start it.
Yes it will actually lift more than 20 lbs in it's current configuration using G26's as the base for the engine. I have seen 27 lbs lifted by NRI as a test. this is on top of the weight of the machine of 18 lbs.
We do keep the head speed up at about 1650 in a hover, to 1800 when picking up a load or for some big 3D action.
The head is all aluminum, and we recommend the V-Blades, and have never had an issue with this setup.

Thanks, Chris
It's allways nice to talk to the "Horses Mouth"
Is there anything in the works for a "Canopy" for the industrial??
I know it's considered a "Working" copter, But even a Sikorsky skycrane has a bit of a cab!
Thanks Much.........................Dave

I really wish I could say we were close on something. Mal has some thoughts on it, but with flying season here, she's been doing a whole lot of it, as well as helping out at the shop. (Did you all know she can do electrical work too?) :glasses2:
There is a full body being worked on by a customer that may be introduced soon.
Details to follow,

Chris:
As long as I've got you on the "horn", Maybe this is not the correct place to ask this but, can a person buy an Industrial complete, minus the engine?
And is the Industrial the same copter as the Intrepid, excepting the blades (main and T/R), the engine, and maybe the tail boom length?
Again Thanks................Dave

I will certainly sell a twin minus engine, but what then? Do you have an idea on another engine? Just curious here, I like new ideas.
The control system is very similar to the intrepid. A lot of the parts are interchangeable, with necessary changes to handle the increased power and weight of the machine.
For instance, The landing gear is doubled up for strength, as is the clutch and main gear.
The tailboom is a thicker walled material and 38" long. We now have a new heavier duty tail gearbox as well.
We use 810 blades on it, recommending V-blades for their superior strength and rigidity, although work is being done to increase this to 900 or even 950 sized blades.

OK............Thanks
When and if you guys get the research done on the longer blades do you suppose that: (1) you will see a greatly increased lift capacity, with the same engine? and (2) Will the head speed come down to accomplish the same lifts that you are accomplishing now?
Thanks.........Dave

Yes.

We already have the different gearing options,( have had them for years), and with some of the new blade designs I have seen, we should get a whole lot more lift at slower speeds.

Thanks Again...........Chris
As soon as I can find a used Industrial I'm probably going to be saying goodby to my savings account "stuffing".
