hi, all,
i am a newbie serving in the middle east and i am almost finished outfitting what used to be a v1 i got last year. i have put on a belt tail drive, and completely replaced all the, well, nearly everything in fact. the belt conversion came with new frame and boom. wider gear, anodized main rotor head and accessories, cnc swashplate, cf main, tail, and paddle blades, hardened stainless main shaft and titanium tail shaft, cnc tail box, and cnc bell cranks and levers. i even changed the evo flight belt setup that drives the belt off the motor pinion to one that drives the belt directly off the main shaft for tail control during autos. none of the plastic junk remains at all. power is a thunder power 2100 3-cell pack, phoenix 25, and the stock recommended brushless motor and control is a futaba 9c.
i still have to assemble and tune everything. given all this, i am wondering about anticipated handling and stability issues. pretty much, all i've read so far thrashes the shogun and leans toward the t-rex as a better heli entirely. with my new setup, should all those problems be resolved? are there any new ones to be concerned about? any input will be appreciated. thanks a bunch.
