Do you use the fiberglass shims in the blade holders, with nothing the blade can flex up/down quite alot because the main grips only touches at the outer part.
With the L14 it came with some glassfiber (yellowish) shims that I can put in, however, its too tight to get both in, is ok to run just on the over or underside?
If your blades have a 12mm root you'll need both shims .
The L14 grips are 14mm and each F/G shim is 1mm, I'm pretty sure that your V's are 12mm so yes you need both shims.

Checked it, there is no way I can get 2 shims in there.
The blade it self is 11.6mm
The blade holder (Stock L14) is at the tip around 12.5 and at the root (where it is largest) 13.5 mm, I would need to bend the blade holders outwards to get it on, that would require some powerful tools.
I shim and its a snug fit though, gonna run it like that I think.

Mel, I run a plastic shim on each blade grip only the one. With the use of a small screwdriver I could put in a thin .8-1.2 mm FG shim on the bottom side but it is a decent fit with just the one shim on each side of 2mm each. Have fun

Thanks OICU812
Yeah, I know why I should use a screwdriver.
Now I just gonna figure out how to remove the glassfiber splinter in my thumb that I just got. Doh. :arggg:

You should put in both shims. You may not need them when you only flying around gently, but for 3D I would use 2. It's a very tight fit indeed, but its possible if you bend the blade downwards and then pushing the upper shim in. The blade grips are warped from the factory, but just the new style ones

No way I could get both in there, I tried, really, but they just dont fit.
Gonna run just one underneath for the moment.

Mel, My 600mm MAH blades are 11.8mm also, and I could only get one of the fiber shims that came with the logo 14 kit. I remember talking with the logo dealer where I purchased the kit and he said to run just one of the shimms on each side.
On the other hand, alu Is a top pilot and knows way more than I do, so I guess it is possible that the grips are warped a good bit. For my flying style the one shim is all I am going to use though. (FWIW)...gordo

Update:
Aha, after some flights (40-50 maybe) I was trying again, and now I can fit both shims!
Nice crisp response on the heli again :D

I got a hang of it, insert the one below, then the blade, then bend the blade downwards, and insert the other shim.
Worked like a charm for me at least :D
