I just wanted to let you all in on my new toy from www.garytravisrc.com Here are a couple pics of it. You will have to follow the links. I can't seem to get it to embed in the post.

The first pic is up close of me flying and my camera operator standing next to me. The second shows us walking to a new location, heli still in the air, and camera man right on my heels.

It's a mobile ground station that your camera operator wears on his chest like a harness. I know this isn't anything new out there, but I have to say to those of you who have not used one of these yet, IT IS AWESOME!

You are in direct comm with your camera operator at all times. When you want to get a new angle you just fly the heli where you want and start walking....your camera operator can just walk righ along side you. No tripods, wires, and batteries to lug around, and reposition every time you decide to move the shot to a different spot.

Your camera operator will think you are a god too!!

I'm just saying if you can afford something like this for your business, you will love it. I know I'm gonna love mine.

Nice rig. Being mobile is the key for sure. My wife uses a fanny pack with the downlink rx, lipo battery and the eyetop power box. Even the eyetops fit in the pack when not in use. I've tried to talk my wife into a monitor like yours but she won't give up the eyetops.

A plus about this monitor is that it's large enough that a client can watch it over your camera operator's shoulder, and see for himself how the shot is going. But yeah you are right....being mobile is definately a big plus. Here I was getting ready to go out and buy a tripod, and voice activated walkie talkies and stuff. Glad I found this first.

I saw a really cool helmet cam. hardhat with patch antenna on the front and receiver built in with video glasses and battery pack on it. even though it looks strange, it seems very effective. :)
