Man, this heli hobby is like crack!

I just bought a Futaba 7CHP a week ago. Now I'm jonesing for the 9CHPS... LHS says that the CCPM on the 9C is mucho better than on the 7CHP and that was why they stopped carrying the 7.

Is there really that much difference???

I just bought a new Futaba 6EXH TX for cheap for my sims, hated using the 7, didn't want to break it, fry it, etc.

I'm running with a T-Rex 450 right now with my sites on a sizeable nitro, but not for a while (Christmas??? ).

Will I outgrow the 7CHP in short order?

Thanks,
Gary

If the 7C has 120 deg eCCPM. It should operate basically the same as the 9C. The 9C has a couple more choices of eCCPM configurations I believe. The best eCCPM you can get will be the 12Z or 14MZ.

Thanks Dave. 120 deg eCCPM is what I am using now.

My understanding from the guy was there are different "resolutions" of the eCCPM programming.

There have been several viewings of my post with no response so I am assuming that there really isn't that much difference in the resolution or quality of the eCCPM control..

Thanks,
Gary

I may be wrong, but don't Futaba actively advertise the 7C as having essentially the same programming features as the 9C ?

"In sophistication, it nearly equals Futaba's "best of the best" 9C"

I think the 9Csuper gives you 1024 resolution as well, that's for all channels so perhaps affects the eCCPM mixing, but I don't know and don't actually own either Tx.

The 9CS and 7C have the same number of swashplate setups.
The 9C just has more mixes and some other features.

Don't know why the guy would be talking about resolution. Both radios have 1024 PCM capabilty and would use the same PCM receivers.

Thanks guys, that's what I thought.

I don't really need the 9C bling at this point. There's always something bigger and better out there. My 7C already has one more channel than I'm using and still learning all the nooks, crannies and nuances of setting up a eCCPM heli.

Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.

Gary

The 12 and 14 process the stick motion to signal out put faster hence better "resolution"

With the 7c and 9c the way the string of bits is transmitted there's a small lag between when 1 and 2 go out and then 3,4,5 then the signal for the servo hooked up to 6, this can cause a lag with ccpm. The 12 and 14 use channel groupings and process the ccpm faster.

That being said, only top pilots (me not being one of them) would probably notice a difference.

To answer the thread question though, with the exception of some expanded capability the 7 and 9c handle ccpm in essentially the same way.
