Ok. I cannot figure it out and I have read some of the posts. I have the 12z as the teacher and I want to hhok mine up to his (student) 9c. Please explain everything I need to do. He has a raptor 50. Do i need to take his modulator out. His channel is 21. Do I set mine to 21? What about function, off and mix. Very confusing. Please help in Lehmans term. THanks

Only done it twice, so Im no expert, but here is some pointers in the correct direction.
Create a new model.
You need to get contact with the receiver (setup freq/modulation correct)
Your channel assignments are then wrong, you need to re-program the channels under "Function" menu, (now you throttle is channel 1, you need it to be the "old" way, throttle = 3 and so on.), Dont remember them all offhand.
When you have that setup, switch on trainer mode.
Function/Mix/Off describes what will happen when you hold the trainer switch (top left corner), Function = he will get control, Mix = both will have control, Off = Only you will have control (Teacher)
Start your radio, select yes to start trainer/student mode, connect the cable (radio turn on automatically), and test the functions out. Reverse channels as needed.
