Is the Walkera 4G6 to big to comfortable fly around indoors? I'm looking for a quality indoor bird that I can mess around with. My family room is 14' x 20' and opens to the kitchen. I want something to buzz around in this space.

Also do they make anything in the micro catagory that i could use with my trusted Futaba 72mhz TX?

Thanks

I'm wondering the same thing. I want to practice some basic orientations and basic 3D stuff but don't want the cost of crashing my 'Rex. Plus, winter flying would be more enjoyable indoors :YeaBaby:

I too was wondering the same on this one as I too want to learn indoors over the winter. I have a T-Rex 250 SE and a 450 Pro on order and playing with either of these two inside is a mess looking for a place to happen!

From what I can tell from my research into this so far is that the 4G6 would be ok to fly inside. The blades are foam, so they should not make a mess of anything you hit. Are you trying to learn or do you allready fly and want to play inside?

I have decided to just buy one and figure it out for myself, so when I get one I will post my opinion then if the question is still there. I am sure some will say you can, some will say you can't. Most say that the 250 is too much to fly inside, but I will probably use it to learn to hover in my living room during the winter.

I would not worry about your existing Tx when you can get something like the 4G6 ready to go for $300. From everything I have read, the 2801 Pro is a good Tx. I was hoping to be able to use the 4G6 with the 9303 Tx I have coming with the T-Rex's, but then I thought that the 4G6 is so small I can take it with me when I travel and not worry about loosing or damaging a $700 Tx. I will also use the 2801 Pro with Phoenix rather than the 9303.

Keep in mind that this is all based on my reading what I read here, which is a lot. I don't have any of the birds yet.

Let me know what you think when you get it. I think I too may buy one and see for myself. I didn't know the blades were foam, that was a good piece of information. I am an experienced flyer (2 years under my belt) with a TREX 600 and TREX 450.

I don't think I've looked in this forum before, if you had posted in the 4G6 forum I'm sure you would have received a quick reply ;)

What you need is a 4#3B

YouTube- Walkera 4#3A too close to the edge

...or the more stable option and for those learning to hover, there is the new CB100, which is basically a 4#3B with a head not unlike the mSR with an off-set flybar - and BTW it can be changed into a 4#3B by not much more than swapping the heads.

Walkera helis will only bind to Walkera TXs but the stock TX you get with the 4#3B/CB100 has everything you need for an FP heli.

The other option for a living room heli is of course the mSR but it looks like an overpriced plastic toy to me :P

Grimmer...haven't forgoten about you!

I got the heli this week and have not got a complete pack through it yet. Crashed and busted a part which needless to say I did not get as a spare! The blades are stronger than I had expected. I will be away until the 8th / 10th and won't be flying it until then. I had hoped to take it with me, but no spare on the busted part! I will keep you posted once I get the thing in the air.
