Continuing my DIY AP project. Because I'm using the DX6 I want to stay away from the 2.4ghz downlinks, plus I have the modified spy cam working so I have improved on it. I picked up a scanner antenna and some small bits from radio shack and came up with some very good reception. I mounted the antenna on a "pvc tri pod" that elevates it to around 9 feet. I then condensed my wifes equipment. I took a project box and installed parts from the radio transmitter and av receiver so it's all one self contained unit, powered by a 3S lipo. By having the antenna 10 feet away from the "box" we now do not have any interfernce issues with the walkie talkies or transmitter which used to affect the video signal. The next improvement is a 5 turn potentiometer to give more resolution and control on the receiver. Test have shown almost twice the usual range!
