i am seeking to gain more knowledge about electric helis, especially the motor esc area, i want to learn like the differences from one motor from another, and types that are usable in the heli hobby, like to get the max performance out of a heli, whats best type of motor and esc to put in. any heli or links would be appreciated.

Wow, what a question. Let me give you the short answer. There are two different types of motors that are generally used in RC helicopters. One is the Brushless and the other is the brushed. The brushed are usually used in the cheaper lower powered helis. Don’t get me wrong; the brushed motors can be very powerful. Generally for the higher-powered helis we use the brushless motors. These are actually 3-phased ac motors. Regardless of which motor you used you must have the appropriate controller. The brushless controllers are considerably more expensive that the brushed controller.
