A newbie question: I have a Comet 500 on the way with an RD8000 TX that I plan to use with the latest version of RealFlight g3. Question is: are all of the goodies associated with the real TX (high precision trim, exponential stick response, 5-point throttle curves, etc.) reflected in G3?
I ask because my first bird was a Walkera 22E. I've never flown a heli before and, as you might expect, wrecked the thing 3 or 4 times, before giving up and sending it on a final (unpowered) flight right into the garbage can. I've since been using the original Walkera transmitter with both FMS and Pre-Flight, and it is *impossible* to trim out the bird in either the sims becuase of the mechanical trims on the Walkera TX. I simply can't seem to get the thing to hover or really control it at all, which a big part of this is my own lack of expeirence BUT the sticks on teh Walkera controller are standard linear pots, hence a few degrees in any direction make an enormous difference. I find that I get frustrated and wreck all of the time.
So step one was a new bird and step two is a new sim, but I would like to know if I can expect the benefits of a good computer sim as stated above in RealFlight, in particular exponential response on the sticks and the ability to trim the bird out reasonably well with just the TX.
Thoughts and comments would be most appreciated.
Thanks all. From what I have gathered in my short time in this hobby, there seems to be a wealth of informative, helpful people on the forums. What a pleasant surprise.
Best,
Toolnote.
