Check it out i have been wanting to do this for some time now since we are flying 1packs and i finally decide to do it havent weighed it yet but it looks cool wiht all that open space. I also added a extra support that i wll get a picture of (camera went dead) :arggg:

Looks great! I was just thinking of doing something like this myself. The easy route would be to cut down the stock mounts, but I thought that would hurt potential resale value in the future(if needed). Maybe some enterprising machinist could make something to fit up front, but full width across the batteries for a really snug fit.

WOW, that shultze/SC is a monster....
Thanks for sharing. So, to be clear, you are running 2 packs of 10S1P, and this gives you the best performance?
I'm used to the (heavier), 2-5S4P's, and a longer flight time. I can sure see the advantage for you extreme 3D guy's. Lighter is obviously better.... :D

Okay, I decided to follow your lead. But I just cut one of the battery mounts. I left the other intact for mounting my optical rpm sensor (it reads a patch of heat shrink glued to the bottom of the main gear). Maybe the other area previously occupied by the big bricks could be used to mount other stuff as well? Having that off really does make tinkering with the gear train easier!!
I think it would still be cool to get a full width plate mounted to the forward pairs of standoffs to more securely hold down these 1P packs.

Looks good! I'm thinking of using the leftover plate, somehow, to make a full width plate for up front, I just need to check canopy clearances.

yep, just used what I cut off to make another plate with full battery width at both ends. Fits under canopy with no problems. So...one battery plate can be cut into two 1p battery pack plates. Easy access under the hood, and I left the other side intact in order to mount an optical RPM sensor under the main gear. I like. Thanks for the tip Bobby!
