For those of you that still fly G2. I have perfected my Fury Tempest. It flys EXACTLY like mine did(It's a box of parts at the moment) I have 2 carbon blade files with it. NHP Razor Pro Symetrical Carbon 720mm & RotorTech Carbon 720mm. The colorscheme I used was created from a picture sent to me requesting a G2 colorscheme. I liked it so much that I had to use it for mine.

OK, Just so you know. The Fury Tempest is based on the sun dog (though the pic is of the foiler) because I got the sundog to fly just like mine. I wasn't able to get the foiler to fly quite rite, the flight characteristics where just off. The canopy is from the foiler though. I felt the foilers canopy looked more like the fury. So I altered the .Heli file to use the foiler canopy on the sundog air frame.

Cool. Glad to hear it. I might host a session a little later tonight. Maybe around 8-9pm. I thought that maybe the fioler canopy on the sundog air frame would throw some people off but I just couldn't get the foiler as close as the sundog. Like I said the foiler canopy looked more like the Fury so I just changed the .Heli file to use the foiler canopy. Maybe I'm TO anal about detail but then my work wouldn't be as nice. Half assed just isn't my style :glasses2:

I don't care how it looks really, just want it to fly well and it does!!

Thank you!!!

Is my Fury a Heli Freak or what?

Just installed the Tempest. The head speed stalls under load. Is there a way to fix that? Has anyone had the same issue? If I make a hard turn, the blades stop! What to do?

I haven't had that happen to me. Try looking at the engine settings. You might need to add a little higher value to the engine power. Is this happening in idle up or in normal mode? Normal mode is set at 1600 and can be bogged or stalled under hard manuvers. Idle up is set at 1900 and can do hard 3D without bogging or stalling to an extent. If you do not manage the collective well the heli will let you know ie. if you put the sticks in the corners in hard manuvers you will hear the head speed decrease as you would expect. I tried to get the power setting as close to real as possible so you have to manage the collective as you would in real life.

I realy enjoy the way the way that tempest flys :D. You have to remember to use collective managment in 3D on this machine. I haven't had that happen to me either??

G2 sucks! I can't believe that with Reflex out people are still using that sim. Talk about "old school".

I downloaded your Tempest. It can't handle a load, what so ever. If I make a FFF turn, the blades stop. Am I missing a setup, or what?

just add more power in the engine setting. That should be enough.

OK I figured out the problem with the tempest. It was actualy the blade file for the NHP Razors, that was the problem. Some how the airfoil in the file got changed. Just go to the mainblade then click on the edit button and change the airfoil to NACA-0016 that's it. It should be fine then.

Rob,

I fly both a tempest and Extreme and wanted to make your model fly more like the Tempest I fly so I made the following changes to your model:

My dad helped my with some of the mathematical calculations to design my own set of blades that are replicas of the MAH 700 dual-taper blades. I found that the airfoil NACA 0011 works very well. I also decrease the cyclic roll deflection to 8.5 as well as alter the paddle airfoil to NACA 64-012. This thin airfoil is similar to the MAH paddle which produces a faster yet solid cyclic control. I run 9252s so I increased the speed by dropping the values to .14 for roll, pitch, and cyclic. I can keep my head speed between 1850 and 1890 for most maneuvers.

The Tempest flys much different - solid, snappy, and precise. My changes don't make it the best - just alittle different. Besides, this is a very powerful feature of G2 that makes it fun!!! :D

sounds good. I'll have to try your changes and see how it flys. I'd like to try out your set of MAHs if you don't mind sharing.

Yeah, I've seen Zak fly too. Been there, done that. It all looks the same to me. I'm looking forward to seeing Robert's IRCHA demo. I hear it's gonna be sweet.

Jeez Jared, the guy just turned 11. Last time I saw him he was a lot better then the time before. You sure your not talking about YOUR flying? When is the last time you saw him fly Jared?

Jared,

You are obviously misinformed....again (seems like a pattern here). Where did you actually "hear" that I was doing a demo at IRCHA (or did you make this up also)?? The demos at IRCHA are resereved for sponsored pilots and reps - Zak will be performing the demos - not me. Just wanted to get the facts straight so you are no longer misinformed. If you are so interested in the demos, why don't you go to IRCHA and watch them? Or, you can wait until they come out on DVD.

Rob,

I have been busy with flying and tuning this weekend. Zak and I will try to get the files and settings together this weekend for you so you can check them out. BTW, your site is very cool - thanks for the effort and contribution that you have put back into the hobby. :D

Baja, your taking it the wrong way. I'm not saying that 3d stuff is easy, I'm just saying IMO it all looks the same. All the videos look the same, piroetting, flipping, chaos stuff, etc. Some guys just do it higher or lower than others. It's by no means easy, I'm sure. BTW, I'm getting out of this heli stuff anyway. Too much BS for one, but I gotta get my HVAC biz going so I can be ready for jobs when I graduate school. Don't have time, gotta make $$$.

Robert,
I didn't mean an "official" demo, but someone here on HF PM'd me and told me that since you have become such an expert that they were gonna get you on video doing some flying at IRCHA. I'd like to see it myself, I hear you fly pretty good. I won't mention his name because he doesn't want me starting any trouble. He'll probably get pissed at me for mentioning this.

No, I won't be travelling to IRCHA, too much cash for me to spend. I don't have the bankroll you guys do, but I will buy the DVD though.
