Anyone experience ? http://www.hobby-lobby.com/brushless-axi2826.htm
Seems to be good quality - but also 50% more expensive, than comparable Hyperion and Hacker ...
here another one (http://www.modelflight.com.au/rc_model_electronics/axi_brushless_2826-10.htm)
Brushless motors with neodymium magnets and rotating case are manufactured using advanced technologies from finest materials. Twin ball raced hardened steel shaft and overall robust but lightweight construction ensure very long lifetime. The unique design of the motors gives extremely high torque allowing to rotate large diameter and pitch propellers without need of a gearbox.

It looks like it will physically work. Not sure what the performance would be like. Axi's are not known for being a good heli motor but you never know.
Price is listed as $98.90. Not much more than the Hyperions or Hackers.
That 760KV one might be a good one to try on 5S.

Thanks, that's right - I have only seen one post so far using that 2826/10, but from the specs it sounds very nice.
Talking about the Hyperion or Hacker, the Hacker is slightly more, which one do you think suits better (together with Jazz)
Thanks again

both are good motors. The hyperions seem to have a bit more power at a lower kv rating than the hacker.

thanks, and assuming I'd fly 3S and 4S without changing settings or pinion - which one would you take ?
- 8, 10 or 12 Turn ?
- 26 or 24 Teeth Pinion
- normal or XL (only applies to Hacker)

Dear friends,
In Belgium the Axi Motor are very used in our Heli Models.
I think for the Lepton the best is to use the 2826/10 with an 3 s battery an 26 teeth Pigion.
PS : I used a 2826/12 on a quick sweet 16 with a 6 s battery an it is ok for fun flying.

Any updates to this? anybody using 2826/10 on 4S or 5S?
Balbs
I tried it on 4S 3700mah
It's a very loud noisy motor - ran hot too
Not much more power than Kora and Hyperion
It may well be that the 3S 26T pinion is a better configuration for this motor

I just checked the temp of the 2826/10 after a 9 min flight and it's 72 deg C with flight power 20C 3300 4 cell and 24 pinion but as I'm a noob I was only doing hovering and some circuits so I don't push it hard yet.The spin 55 was 76 deg C with throttle curve of 0/45/80/90/100.

2826/8 has great performance in 4S 17-18T pinion...... It will require an ESC that's capable of 8khz pwm or it will be noisy.......
This motor don't easily bog........ In the future I have plan of running it 5S, when my 4S packs reach it's final cycle......
What ESC's are capable of 8khz pwm?
The Align 75 and Jazz ESC's are working fine on other 8 and 10 pole motors
Why would they not be ok for the Axi?

The Jazz and Jeti Spin ESC can do 8Khz.
Balbs
Thanks
I use a Jazz 55 on my Lepton and when I had the Axi2826 in it made a hell of a noise
Where does that leave us with this "requires an ESC that's capable of 8khz pwm or it will be noisy"?
As far as I'm concerning it was mecanical and fan noise

I run a CC60 on mine without any problems or added noise.

I've been recently trying to eliminate a High pitch whining noise.I thought it was the belt ringing in the boom, but I've tried different pinions and it happens when the motor reaches 10,000 rpm regardless of pinion. Is this the motor noise everyone talks about?
If so I'll try one of the motors mentioned in this thread.

Jafa
I had run mine first on Align 75, then CC 45. It was loudest on Align. Milder on CC45. When I switched to Jeti, It is now silent (I had it set up the way manufacturer recomended). I don't know how you did the set up yours on Jazz. You may have missed something. I'll try to post a video of this motor running 6S, but on T500. No high pitch whine whatsoever.

How the AXi 2826/10 working for you? Or did you actually get one? You pm'ed me several times, on a different forum, in case you're wondering. I got different user name there (I had difficulties creating log on here).
The Jazz does automatic timing and everything else - there are no parameters to change
Yes - I bought one and flew it - it was not a power house, just a little extra power
combined with more current consumption and a lot of noise
So it's on the bench now - the Kora is back in the Lepton

Well, it don't seem you tuned it well..... You got too confident with auto tune....... And got a spoiled result...... Then judge it as a no better alternative..... Jeti Spin has auto tune also, but admited it's good only for mild flying, and manual tuning provides best result for those who wants to maximize performance....... There's another guy on another forum that tried this motor on the other forum, about the same time you tried this motor, and reported how much he loved it better than his Kora, 'cause his Lepton tail became more solid and having a lot of fun with the motor switch over........ I have never tried Kora so I'm not gonna comment on it....... But the other guy did, and stashed his.........
You're display yourself like an expert, and yet you don't even know how to program an ESC.....
Here is the manual http://www.kontronik.com/Downloadmess/JAZZ.pdf
There is nothing to tune - you set mode 4 for heli and mode 9 for LiPo
Variable beat frequency
The Jazz speed controllers varies the beat frequency between 8 and 32kHz. Which
beat frequency is used depends on the physical motor data and the actual load of
the motor. Therefor the motor is always used in the point of best efficiency.
So what tuning are you refering to???

Obviously it didn't work the way it supposed to........ Mine works fine manually configured..... With very, very good power and without the noise that you're bemoaning about....... You, still didn't tune it right the way I see it (oh, you didn't tune it =D)......
Obviously it didn't work the way it supposed to........
You, still didn't tune it right the way I see it (oh, you didn't tune it =D)......
I've asked you what tuning - how to tune this ESC - and this is all you can offer ?
You're some piece of work ...

Enough of this.... So far not a lot of others that have tried this motor are giving comment.....
There's me, you, one in this forum, two on the other forum....... You're the only one that seems against this motor....... You may have the best ESC (see, even me agree Jazz is a very good ESC =)], but it's not perfect (well, I rest my case on that one [probably works pretty well with Kontronic motor, both made by the same company]).......
But you shouldn't voice your judgement based on "Auto fine tuned with Jazz, didn't work good, piece of garbage"........ =D
