What happened to the post about Whirlygirl's crash? Came home from the field last night and saw the posts but can't find it this morning. Thought maybe I dreamt it. Just wanted to offer encouragement - if it was really true. Thanks.

Thanks, Chris. I apologize for bringing up old news, and bad news at that. I got home from the field late last night and saw this post but I was obviously on page two instead of new news. Sorry for bringing this back up. My mistake. I wasn't too sharp at the field last night either, if that explains anything.

Standby Bobs. I'll soon be posting more of my experience with taming the beast! :D

I just received my blades today and should be firing back up this holiday weekend. I sure have missed flying this big bird. So smooth and stable. It's a shame that I had to park it on the sidelines for this long because of a gyro failure.

I haven't disappeared...just been reading a lot lately and getting ready to fly a lot! :smokin:

Good to hear you'll be back in the air soon. Did you replace the defective gyro with another 401? Just curious because I'm undecided whether to use a 401 or 611 on my build. I have three 401's on Raptors and one 240 on a T-rex but thought the Intrepid might need something beefier. However, I've never had a problem with any of them. Keep us posted and good luck.

Futaba replaced 2 of my 401 gyros at no cost. I'm debating on whether to take my 502 out of my Raptor and put it on the Bergen, or if I should just put the new 401 back on. The 401 is plenty of gyro for the EB, I had it set up correctly with all advice taken in from Chris's posts and Gary's phone calls...no binding in the travel...just had the bad luck of it going hard right in forward flight and I couldn't land it with a constant piro going on. Hmmm...maybe something to practice on the sim?

Whatever gyro you go with, make sure you get some Zeal tape from Bergen to install it with. That stuff ROCKS!

Bobs,

Gary Travis, sponsored pilot for Bergen, actually built my Intrepid for me, and I took ALL of his advice from which servos to who should paint my canopy.

Given Gary's rep and the fact he put a 401 in my Bergen speaks for itself.

Failures happen, sometimes there's nothing that we can do.
