Thanks guys. I'll keep the mesh tight and see how it wears in.

whats the difference between running 2packs in parralel, to running them in series? If you use a y connection doesnt it always run them down at the same time?

Two 22.2v 3000Mah packs (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=9489&aff=97114) in parallel doubles the capacity, i.e. 3000+3000=6000Mah/22.2v, while in series doubles the voltage i.e. 22.2+22.2=44.4v/3000Mah.

I can see 12s power system for t-rex 600 is getting more and more popular. You guys in most cases chose Castle Creation.
Do you guys happy with this ESC?
Will you choose again or go to better quality ESC like Kontronik?

is it KDE upgrade part for one-way bearing hub & using trex700 main gear is a must for 3D purpose?or is it enough using stock t600esp main gear for 12S setup?

Olgierd, I am using a CC 85HV currently on my scorpion 4025-1100 and will continue using it when my pinion gets here (forgot to order with new -630) on my 12S system. We are having some issues with the newer firmware not working properly with our 6S systems and not getting the proper power from our systems. I am currently using an older firmware update and it works fine (2.16). The newer ICE versions are nice because of the data logging features and aren't near as expensive at the kontronics. Overall I'm happy with my ESC but would like for the newer firmware versions to actually work. We'll try some different settings to see if the newer firmware will be more efficient.

Mainly due to the big different in cost, secondly, the governor performs very well in recent firmware releases.

I wouldn't run anything else, because I have never experienced any issues with Castle Creation ESC's or BEC.
Currently running the CC ICE 50 on 450 Pro(3s), CC 80 on T-Rex 500(6s), CC 85HV on T-Rex 600(12s) and CC 110HV on T-Rex 700e(12s).

Never stripped a stock main gear in 200+ flights on 12s, doing hard punch outs and tic-tocs etc.

rceccleston, able to share your cc settings and using which firmware? I assume the motor is the 4025-630 as indicated in ur signature.

A copy of my Castle Creations 85HV ESC config can be found on the first page (http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=173879).
Currently only running final releases (http://www.castlecreations.com/downloads/frh-phoenix.html), version 3.0, not beta's.

No wonder I see there's a difference in ur setup file. The above indicated is only for the castle link, what about the controller? Also the final release 3.0?

hey I got a question how come no one talks about running 4 11.1 in series? its always 2 6s never 4 3s I would think it would be the same, the only reason I ask is I bought a bunch of 3s 3000mah 30c packs to run in my 450 and 2x in my 500! please tell me if I am wrong 100% or if it would work but not for full out amp draw or what you seem to know quite a bit so! I have 16 3s batterys so it would be easy for me just to do it this way if it will work ok, keep in mind I only scale and FF sport

Yes, you could, but the packs would degrade a lot quicker for the following reasons.
- Each pack would be subject different loads in 450 and 500,
- Cells are not ohms matched,
- Cells would become imbalanced,
For the above reasons, power would be lacking in both 500 and 600.
Optimal performance is achieved with pairs dedicated to a model, ohm's matched within the 4-5 run in flights and balanced as a single 12s pack i.e. two networks Hyperion chargers.

wow I really did not know all that! I was never told that the packs would be afected by running them on diffrent loads, I have been useing them between my 450 and 500 for a while, now why does the diffrent loads mess with it? and I got my lipos cheap but don't want to have them go bad from abuse from me, how and where do I go to look up all I need to know about owning and running lipo's the right way? I will really be thankful if you could help me on this, and the other post we where talking about IE 700E I will pm you when I am ready with that amount, I need to finish these builds first then I will move on and do that one. one project at a time lol

While it's hard to find any do's and don'ts from manufactures, regarding the usage of li-po's, but many pilots have posted their experiences.
Basically, the roots of it comes down to balanced cells, within the pack arrangement.
Under load, the voltage of an older cell is lower than that of a newer cell, so the overall pack voltage is lowered.
In fixed end points, this results in lower peak head speed and more bogging under high loads.
The cells in a 6s Turnigy/Flightmax packs are ohm's matched at the factory, during assembly, which can easily be paired for life and maintained as a single 12s pack.
For this reason, I charge/balance 2x ohm's matched 6s Turnigy 3000Mah 30/40c packs (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=9489&aff=97114) as a single 12s packs on two network Hyperion chargers.

After chroming all the cnc parts, my 700e build is taking shape. :YeaBaby:
If ya like the finish of a 'limited edition', wait till ya seen my chromed '700e special edition'.. lol..
Will post some pics once the build is complete.

Cool...went downstairs to check my 600 GF to see if I needed the 3rd bearing block as I could'nt remember the main spindle sticking out from the main gear. There's already one there.
If you hav'nt seen it already then have a look at the following tube vid.
More or less what we are making.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q11NEAGKK7Y
If that does'nt make you want 12s nothing will.
Outstanding information in this thread. Thanks.
12s here I come.

Exactly!! The torque on 12S is just awesome...I'm a true believer. Got 20 12S flights under my belt now...just wish I'd done it from the get go and not wasted time w/ 6S. I just switched to the 700 Gear with 16T pinion in order to run 2000, 2100, and 2200 governed. I was getting 2100 or so using 100% flat on a 13T but the governor wouldn't work w/ that gearing so needed the change. Also swapped out the Scorpion bearings for Bocas. That took all of about 5 minutes!
