i agree ,rceccleston certainly has made life easier , i got my scorpion on its way now , will be able to get a cc85HV from fastlad with a week or two , been looking at the hobbyking site at the 3000s 20c packs too , can`t wait

Hello rceccleston.

Thank you for the effort you put into this thread (and everyone else answering questions).
What sensor are you using for your Eagle Tree to measure RPM? Do you have a magnet on your maingear or is it optical?

Jens
Thank you for your kind words.

I have installed a magnet in the main gear and 'Hull' sensor on custom carbon bracket from a bolt in the boom block.

From personal experience, I found the sensor needs to approximately 1mm clearance, else some reading can be lost during flight.

Also recommend drilling a very small hole through the main gear so the glue doesn't pop the magnet back out.

With approximately 250 flights on this heli to date, the pictured main gear has done well over 150+ flights, with no sign of fractures or wear.

Recommend minimum of 30/40c packs, as the old 20c chemistry will cause the voltage to drop and the head to bog under load.

While the Turnigy 3000mAh 6S 30/40c packs (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=9489&aff=97114) may cost a little more to purchase, they'll last a lot longer and perform very well.

If your going to stretch it later, you need the Scorpion 4035-400kv with 12s 5000Mah packs, else it'll be under powered, short flights and unbalanced.

Are you planning to convert your pictured 600 nitro airframe to electric??

Recommend upgrading from the stock mod 0.7 pinion, main, autorotation and umbrella to the new (HN7021 (http://www.align.com.tw/shop/product_info.php?products_id=3153)) Align 700 M1 upgrade gears assembly kit, as they have known stripping issues, but that's a discussion for another thread.

hello all , is there any reason why this 12s set -up would not work with a HV45 speed cont , have been researching the amps used , and these all appear to be very low , any thoughts , cheers ady

Ciao Guys,

Finally managed to log on a few flights with my trex 600. I'm using a HV Turnigy ESC, 4035 560kv Scorpion motor and two Turnigy 40c 2650mah 6s batteries in series. I'm also using a KDE hub to use a trex 700 maingear. Power is massive but after 3mins I use up approx 75% of the batts, when recharging I put back 1930mah. Esc and batts are luke warm and motor is a little hot. On cyclic I have Align 610 servos running on 8,4 volts directly. I use a voltage reg for the tail servo and gyro. I'll do a few more cycles to break in the batts and then I would like to post a vid. I'm just lovin it!

Ciao and happy landings!

cool heli da vinci , are you the same da vinvi who put the os 91 into the rex 600 a long time ago ? and as for mine , i`ve located a CCHV85 delivered to my door (hopefully) £110 , i think i got all the parts except batts now :)

Knowing how much punch the 4035-560kv has on 700e's, the power must be insane, for all of 3 mins. :YeaBaby:

I got a question how are you running 8.4 volts directly? and how well are the servo's holding up? I never did anything like this so not sure how you are doing it and I would like to may be do it to but don't want to burn stuff up by hooking up wrong! I would also like to know what frame is that? it dose not look like my esp or gf frame and I have no nitros so I am just confused lol

I am using your HV85 settings as a starting point for an identical 12s setup. I updated my firmware and setup my tx endpoints. What I am unable to do is adjust the governor gain settings as these are grayed out. So, how do I do it.
Thanks in advance...

The servos are holding up fine after more than 50 flights or so. I got to see Alan Szabo at the Alpine Heli Smackdown in Switzerland using these servos on his Trex700 so I decided to try them. You'll find plenty of posts here on helifreak of people using these in highvoltage setups without any issues.

My electric setup is quite simple really, I use a 2s 2000 mah lipo which I connect directly to my AR6200 Spektrum receiver ( This rx is rated up to 9 volts) all three cyclic 610 align servos are connected to the receiver. The 611 Futaba gyro and BLS 251 tail servo however cannot handle the extra voltage so i use a small Spektrum VR5203 voltage regulator which keeps the voltage constant at 5.1volts (At least that is what shows on the display of the 611 gyro) If you also use Spektrum or JR you could opt for a 7100 receiver which already comes with a built-in voltage regulator. I use the similar 7100R receiver on my Trex700 which also comes with a built-in governor.

The frames are http://www.rc-motion.com/ Mine are G10 and are great for positioning the motor up higher for better CG and also to allow larger motors to fit w/out having to cut the frames.

Sounds like you need to change from 'fixed end points' to the various governor modes, in the Castle Link software, on the first tab.

I must have misunderstood. I thought you were running fixed endpoints because it is a more efficient setup.
