As you draw current out of a battery (any chemistry), the voltage across the terminals will drop. Higher C-rated packs have lower internal resistance and are also able to maintain a higher output voltage under a given load when compared to lower C-rated packs. This drop in voltage directly affects the headspeed because the motor speed is proportional to the voltage coming from the ESC (and ultimately the battery).

Nice clear explanation. Thank you very much.

a few more questions ; when it comes to soldering the Hercules BEC, it is the same as other BEC right ? meaning I solder it to the same deans that goes to my ESC ?
then how do I set the voltages on the BEC. I see the dip switches and the box diagram next to it but I dont get the diagram. When the box is white does it mean the switch is in that position ?
and about the 6mm shaft for the 4025-630; I would need a 6mm pinion for it then right ? who carries them. Ready heli doesnt !

Yes you can solder to the wire or to the Deans.
ReadyHeli does have the 6mm pinions.

Skinwalk, I would recomend buying a voltmeter to make sure the settings are correct on the Hercules . I thought I had the dipswitches the rightway round but just to make sure I put the voltmeter on and am I glad I did!! I would of fried my electronics. I think even Hercules recomend to check it with a voltmeter. I would mate. Tony.

I started with grey, now run the black (I was concerned about a boom strike with doing tictocs). I have some KBDD dampers waiting in the wings for when I trash the black ones.

Hyperion sells a rebranded -630 with better bearings - you can get it here:

My heli is built per this 12s setup. I have read through most of this and have not seen a run down of DX7 settings. Anyone using a DX7 are what are your radio settings. I already have a lot of them but want to double check everything. Hopefully, I did not miss a page with this on it. Thanks

is it normal for the WR Hercules to get quite warm from just being plugged in ?

Can anyone give me an idea of "normal" motor temps?
4025-630 12T 12s 3000.
I have yet to even maiden my 12s600e but the motor seems to get remarkably warm even when spinning up on the bench with no blades.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks.

Have you adjusted your timing to 5 and frequency to 'outrunner' mode??

Aww man. I don't want to hear that. I just bought one to replace the CC BEC Pro.

I wouldn't worry about everything you hear.
I have over 300 flights on my original CC BEC Pro without any issues.

If using a 14t pinion, what % throttle should I run at please? (im worried I may spin the blades too fast)

With 13T in fixed end points you'd see 2250rpm so 14T would require either 'high gov' or 'set rpm' mode.
