View Full Version : Loctite on the Hatori FH mount?

I usually don't use loctite on muffler mounts.

Should I use it with the newer Hatori -FH style mounts? That mount is different enough that I thought I should ask.

No. Torque down the bolts through the grommets until the bushings make contact, and then evenly and moderately torque them. Do not Hercules these - as you will simply strip them.

As for the through-case bolts, use a reasonable amount of equally applied torque, ensuring the nut is seated in the header's slots.

Keep in mind that the release temperature of the loctites typically used by hobbyists is well below the temperatures encountered around the engine's exhaust port (fwiw)

If you need or want to use locktite, use the white.. 600 degree heat range. Works well.
