Hi Guys,

As many of you know from the other thread I'm considering converting my two stage Ion to a Single stage and 32-3.

My question is how's the performance of the single compared to the Neu ?

Draw?
Ftimes?
H/S?

Thanks,

epc2.

The Actro 32-3 geared at 9.5 to 10:1 is probably the most powerfull and robust overall setup that can be done in the Ion. Not the most efficient but the motor sheds heat well so it is not a problem.

On 10S with a pair of 700G2's, geared 9.5:1 expect full throttle hovering currents to approach 40 amps. At 10:1 that number will drop off about 5 amps.

Flight times as always will depend on a lot of things as well as the motor/gearing. The blades, your flying style and batteries all have a part in that number.

However, I could get 8 to 10 minutes no problem on a pair of ProLite 8000's. I believe Will, Bobby et. al. are getting 4 to 6 minutes on the Flight Power 3700's geared 9.5:1 for ballistic performance.

Headspeed will be pretty high using the 9.5:1 ratio and the newest cells. Figure over 2100 wide open and about 100 rpm less at 10:1.
