Hey,
The one I saw in the mags used clothing poppers, like the kind youd find on a shirt that snap together.
This way the halves could be seperated but when push together are held firm and will not come apart inflight.

Gary Ganion, my brother-in-law, started this thread. Well as things work out, my sister and her husband, Gary, came to the Midwest on a family visit and he brought his project with. We both dove in and put twin tail motors, extended main shaft, HDX300 one way auto gear and swash driver gizmo on it and finally after about 3 days of finishing things up we gave it a fly. At 420 grams it flys very well and has an adequate climb (to my surprise!) using the stock BCP motor with 9 tooth pinion and a 910 TP lipo. Thanks to 'Pigs Don't Fly' for the inspiration to use Revell's 1/24 plastic model kit to stuff this BCP into! Worked out pretty slick!
