Hi Guys:

I've been wrestling with how to best upgrade my Blade CP. At a minimum, I want to use the G90 Seperate Head Lock gyro, and perhaps convert to a brushless main motor.

I have the current 4-in-1. I was going to buy the 3 in 1, but that seems like a waste if I go Brushless. I have a DX6 System and Reciever. So If I go Brushless, my understanding is I would just need a Brushless Controller and Motor for the main, and Brushed controller for the tail.

Now, with regards to the tail, I have an older FMA 5 amp brushed controller (never used it). I don't know if it has a brake function or not, but there are no programming options. Someone said you should definately have a "soft start" controller for the tail. Is this true? If so I would need a small programmable controller for the tail. However, if I set the Gain low on the Gyro, does this accomplish the same thing?

I'm a bit confused to be honest.

In the mean time, since I've already purchased the Head Lock Gyro, can I use the Gyro in some fashion with the 4 in 1?

Thanks for any tips and advice!

Regards,
Lee

as far as I know its not possible to use a hh lock gyro with the 4 in one , you can use it with the 3 in one . you can use your DX6 to set the gain remotely I think ( depends on the gyro if this is possible ) I dont know about the g90 .

my separates BCP has got :

brushless main motor / brushless 10 A ESC
DC tail motor (stock)/ 5 A GWS DC ESC ( non programmable ) no brake
gyro is a g190 non HH
3 spektrum (stock out of the box) servos on collective.
3 cell TP packs at 1320 mAh

other upgrades include

CF main blades
main and tail motor heatsinks
aluminum tail motor mount
aluminum swashplate
aluminum landing skids
bell hiller head upgrade
spektrum reciever

Im using my spektrumized JR6102 to control it

My problem right now is , my GWS 5 A ESC for my tail needs to intitialize on startup , this means it needs to see a minimum voltage signal coming from the reciever just like the main motor ESC does on all ESCs so why is it when I tried to test set up a gy401 HH gyro it wouldnt work , the GWS ESC wouldnt initialize because there is no way to give the ESC a minimum signal , right now I have to give the ESC a minimum signal manually by giving full left rudder to essentially turn the tail function off this lets it initialize . silly problem i think , I want HH :dontknow

Steve:

So no problem with a "simple" brushed ESC for the tail?

Thanks,
Lee

yah its just a gws 5 A , nothing special as far as I can tell . Its non-programmable and I think it cost around 30 bucks CAN .
