Using a dongle emulator is one method of bypassing the check for an actual hardware device that is used for software copy protection. It is illegal to steal software.

Please post a FAQ on this so no one misunderstands in the future.

It just terminology. Yes you can still link your Tx through the Realflight box. Travis is so picky :D

I don't think there is any confusion here. RealFlight.G3.Dongle.Emulator is the exact name of a download that allows people to bypass the RealFlight hardware dongle verification. A simple google search will turn up information on the software.
I find it interesting that the original poster refers to the software by the exact name that is used where the software is available for download. Even more interesting is that there is a post asking about compatibility on that same page. Note the registered user name...

does it work for 430?
Now why would a guy that owned a legal copy of RealFlight G3 have any reason to be asking questions about compatibility of a hack and the latest version of the RealFlight software?

I realize that it is possible for someone to have purchased illegally duplicated software. It is even possible that someone who owns a legitimate copy of RealFlight might want to tinker with a dongle emulator. Both scenerios are unlikely, but entirely possible.
myrddin... If you own a legitimate copy of RealFlight G3, you should have received a controller box that looked like this (http://www.realflight.com/products/interlink-images/gpmz4400-main-2.jpg). On the back of that controller, and on the CD case would be a set of serial numbers. I would appreciate it if you would PM me with the serial numbers from both locations. Then I could apologize, retract my remarks, and this whole issue could be resolved...

After talking to zooland1 Ill retract my statement and just say this:
How about taking the time to post a sticky on this or how about making up a FAQ so people understand a bit better.
thanks I will not be back in this section agn

This may sound stupid, but I have a totally legit, store bought version of G3 and I have the dongle emu as well... Reason being is that I like using my radio much better than the G3 one - the G3 TX leaves all the mixing to the software rather than me being able to change it on my radio like I have to in real life, and the G3 radio just doesnt feel right compared to my 'real' TX. Anyways, point being that with the G3 TX wired into the PC, and then having to plug my TX into it, leaves this damn G3 TX laying on the computer desk and causing more cable tangles and just generally being in my way. Its much easier to hook my TX right into the PC and be done with it.
Im not trying to cause any grief here, just pointing out my reasons for the above.

:thumbsup2: I agree. I just bought G3 and a JR XP9303 In an atempt to learn to fly Helios. Now want to use the Tx on my computer, but the G3 came with 2 #1 discs now waiting for them to mail me another set. :bomb:

You can't blame Travis for being a little touchy about his work. I have hooked my TX through the Interlink and it works fine. I have a 14MZ so I would definitely rather using the G3 Interlink.
I own Reflex and G3 and I rarely fly either unfortunately, I should though... :DOH

I just started "playing" with G3. The Dominion is surprisingly easy to fly and auto. The problem is that I think it's a little too easy.
I think I need to turn up the wind to make it more like my club's field. I swear the wind never drops below 10 knots, and it's almost always across the runway.
