How would I know if it was bad? it reads on the rpm screen when motor is running but doesnt seem to hold at all.

if you're getting a running RPM on the gv1, its probably working. You can pull the canopy and hover the model, you should still be able to see that the RPM's are at least changing. Likely something else in the setup.

Same setup as my others heli's I have checked it 5 times. I will try switching the box.
