Just got a 500T with an 8700G servo. First off the instructions are the worst I have ever seen. Have read the sticky on setting up the gyro and the instructions there are a 500% improvement of the junk in the box.

My question is on the frame rate switch. When do you choose high or low. I am guessing the 8700G can be on high. But what is the criteria to choose? No mention of this in any instructions I have found.

Second questions, why is the 8700G marked as PCM only? I alway thought PCM was only the encoding for the signal between the transmitter and the receiver and that the signal out of the received is the same regardless. What am I missing here?

I think they may have change something with the new 8700Gs internal hardware is why they use the PCM. Frame rate answer High.

Setup. what radio? JR 9303 or any JR

Travel ajust 150% L & R use D/R to control Piro rate 80% and add about 20% expo to soften the stop, if not it will strip crown gears if your heli has one. This is all posible with the 9303 you can set up all three flight modes with different rates in the D/R section

The 8700G servo is marked PCM only because the servo is electrically noisy. It tends to feed back noise to the reciever causing glitching on non PCM recievers. I have used the 8700G on a FM reciever and never had problem with it. I would still be flying the heli that way if I had not crashed the heli and broke the reciever.

My radio is a JR 6102 that has been "Spectrumized".

Interesting that the servo is so noisy that only PCM receives are recommended. This makes more sense than anything I could figure out.
