Take a rubber mallet and give it a wack on the bottom on the tube. That should free it enough that you can pull it on out. The tube has a slight groove worn in it from the sprag bearing and that is what is holding it. Once you have it out. Take some 600 grit sandpaper and some oil and polish the tube till the groove is gone.

This happens to some of the constant drive units.

If you don't have a rubber mallet. Lay a piece of wood across the end of the tube. Then hit the wood with a hammer. This will do the same as a mallet. You just don't want to damage the tube.

Sometimes you have to tap it fairly hard. Push the gear all the way down and then hit it. Once the groove gets pass the edge of the sprag clutch fingers, it should come out fairly easy.

I would give it a good whack. Not BAM but a smack. David is right about it wearing. The tube will have a slight groove in it from the bearing against the tube, making it hard to get out. Mine was the same way when I had to replace my crown gear so I just tapped it and it came out then I did like david said also and sanded it smooth with some sandpaper and now its good as new. Good luck getting it out.

ok i manage to take the gear out by giving a nice med whacking.

i notice the groove. But is it a must to sand it ? or leaving it is better ?

I would sand it down.. It will go back together easier and come apart again easier in case you forget to put oil in the sprag! :)

Put a drop of oil on there and sand it with some 600 until there is no lip when running a nail over where it was. Then you can put some oil in the 1way bearing in the auto unit, about 6-8cc's worth I think is what the manual for my Extreme said.

As for dialing in the fan in, go read the very first post in the MinAir Glow Forum. Its been there for months. An easy answer, the way "I" do it is from the top inside where the unibal goes in the fan.
