Bobby, hurry up and try the Jazz before I have to ground my Lepton to rip my only other Jazz 55 out of it to transplant to the Neu.
Hi!
Know some of you guys have been there before, 12S two stage Ion-X.
This season I have tested 12S on my Ion-X and Joker2, the season is soon over, and I will soon have to decide what to do next season.
I have had a lot of bad luck with my Ion-X this season, a lot of different things including problems there have nothing to do with the Ion-X, like failing transmitter, crystals etc. Bottom line is that I haven´t been able to make all the test flights I wanted because of all these set backs.
But after having destroyed 4 NEU motors and a lot of secondary gears, plus the fact that more than 10S is still not allowed in F3C and the new F3N, many things talk´s for 10S in combination with the NEU motor.
The Schulze 14S controller is expensive and heavy, my current 12S battery is heavy, and I haven´t succeeded yet to get a reliable 12S setup.
Maybe a secondary gear made of a different material in combination with a lighter heli would make things work again on 12S.
Also a lot has happened with the batteries this season, so 10S today is not the same as 10S last year.
If I change the controller to maybe the Jazz 55, the battery to a 10S3700ma, and install a UBEC instead of a heavy 4cell Nmhd receiver battery, plus add some carbon undercarriage, I could save up to 1kg in weight, which will give me performance due to lower weight, and better flight characteristics also due to lower weight.
But who knows....maybe for the next season we will have some lighter and cheaper 12S controllers, a stronger secondary gear and some regulations allowing high voltage for F3C and F3N.
I have to say that when it worked, this 12S setup was avesome, all the power I dreamt about, just not reliable.
Right now, a 12S heavy heli/NEU/soft secondary gears is a bad combination I think.
PS.
This is the way to do 12S, 4,6kg all inclusive, ready to ROCK :-)

Unfortunately this is not my heli yet, still waiting for it, the first kits start to ship mid October, so I hope to receive mine late October.
It is a picture taken from Henseleit´s homepage
http://www.henseleit-helicopters.de/MPXL_E.html
Below is the German text translated to English with an online service.
I have the normal 3DMP my self, and this is about 50% more energy efficient than any other 50 size heli I have owned, the most powerfull, the lightest, the fastest and the most silent...amazing so little noise coming from the 3DMP powertrain.
With an old TP 10S 4000ma battery with almost 200 cycles, I can have flight times between 12-14 minutes on my 3DMP if I empty the battery, but I stop with a good margin left after 9 minutes of 3D flight.
No doubt in my mind that the gear design in Henseleit helicopters is the best on the market.
--------------
With the MP-XL-E it concerns the Eloktroversion of the MP-XL-V91.
(see also under MP-XL-V91)
the complete helicopter is completely identical with the exception of the other lower part (elastic module) to the verb racer, so that the re-equipment is to be realized on the verb racer version very fast and simply.
Despite the two bevel gear drives for the tail rotor the operating noise is very quiet and is not noticeable not unpleasantly.
The unloaded weight of the completely equipped helicopter without electrical motor, Automatic controller and Antriebsakku amount to approx. 2.9 kg, so that one comes depending upon drive selection on a take-off weight of 4,3 to 4.8 kg.
The Akkuschacht is to be accommodated largely enough around all erdenklichen Akkuformate surely.
My own model weighs with a Actro 32/3 engine and POWER a jazz 63V automatic controller, as well as a 1100g heavy 12s 1p Flight power Antriebsakku 4,6kg
of this Setup is completely sufficient for normal to ambitious flies. Naturally other Setups for extremists is also possible, since the mechanics are sufficiently stably dimensioned.
With a 11:1 reduction amounts to the maximum rotor speed with 0° pitch approx. 2200 umin.
Even with 12° pitch holds itself the rotor head number of revolutions 1850 umin. Accordingly enormous climbing rates and speeds are reachable.
The flying times with a Akkukapazität of 3700mAh amounts to depending upon flight style between 6 and 12 minutes.
A Akku with a capacity of approx. 4300 - 5000mAh appears to me for pilot somewhat the more reserves to have wants on a long-term basis than meaningful.
A normal flight style is sufficient for pilot those, can the MP-XL-E with something other reduction also with a 10S Akku operate.
