I see the paper on the blade grips. did that whole tail come assembled. Are the preassembled parts thread locked? I have always had to take apart and redo my align stuff.

No not fully pre-assembled... and no thread lock, it says so right on the package one of the parts trays.

nah i bought the red washers and links cause the silver is too BLAH one thing you guys should do is take a file and make the hole bigger where the canopy mounts up front are....this way is a crash there more room for the screw head to rip out instead of tearing the frame... i did this MOD on my Velocity 50 when i read a post about it and only take 20 seconds
Exactly what brand red washers are they. Size etc? also are those quick uk links? long or short? I want to get some...
Thanks man...

i find it easier to build the kit then go back and loc-tight everything but there a few things i did do ahead of time that would be a pain to get to once the kits assembled

I normally stick to nitro myself, so I have a question for the new fusion owners. Is the tail gearbox pinned to the boom or is it clamp only like the V-50?
Thanks,
Tone

one thing i just noticed is that the main shaft has a tiny bit of up and down play even when you push the bearing block all the way to take out play of the main gear..the play is coming from the bolt hole in the main shaft so there is no way to totally eliminate the play

No issue on my end... Make sure you have the middle block in the right way otherwise you will have exactly this problem. U got the stepped washer in there too right?
The boom: So far, I know its not pinned but the clamping system is awesome! And the wrinkle finish just helps the fact. I tried real hard to pull it and I didnt even have it fully clamped. I could not pull it.
I'm going to post a build thread later with all the 'bugs' and small issues I found... maybe an outrage rep will read it. Above all, the manual needs tweeks, both grammatically and with a few of the diagrams.
Anybody notice the picture on the box has a collar on the main shaft but the kit does not use a collar?

i don't have any play with the main gear its solid as a rock its the main shaft that only moving cause the hole they drill in the bottom of the main shaft for the BOLT isn't a snug fit when the bolts slides through... so when i pull up and down on the main shaft the gap of the bolt is causing the play no way to fix it unless i get a new main shaft thats machined better with better tolerance

LOL yeh man, welcome to the club. I'm really interested in F3C so that’s why I went with an FB head.... Nothing against FBL, I will eventually get an FBL heli when I get through my hard core training regiment.
O yeh, glad you like the A-20, only 42 of these in the world and only 1 with an in-flight adjustable 3 blade prop, a header tank and TCAS. It's a competition bird! :)

Oh I see... I had that problem with my 450. That sux man but I guess its the price we pay being the first consumers to get this thing. My shaft is fine though.
You can always insert a shim of some sort; maybe hack up an old metal antenna?

actually after playing with it more i got the main shaft solid but i don't like how i had to do it ..originally i put the nut and bolt in and tightened it till it was snug other wise on most heli's it will warp the tail drive gear....so i tightened it a few more turns more then i like and its no longer has play

...But that gave you a bit of a wobble right? Mine has a smidgen of wobble (in the auto gear)... Doesn’t bother me, especially considering that compared to my 450 pro it's no contest, this bird is practically slop free. I'm gonna post a video later showing how the tail compared to my 450 pro's upgraded tail.

Hey wut cell size are u guys going with? Volts has the 6s I need for only $83 each but if I go with 10s, Hyperion has the motor in stock I want for 10s not the 12s.. But I have to pay more for 5s and it's less to choose from.. Hyperion sold out of motor for 12s. Is 10s ok to run power wise vs 12s
BaconRaygun

I'm on the fence on this one... I need to go do my math cuz I think I may be able to run one motor for 10s and 12s with different pinions. If I cant then I'm gonna get 2 motors, 12s for 3D and 10s for FAI stuff. But, input from more experienced pilots would be nice as this is my first big heli.
Was gonna go 8s originally but I would rather have more power on hand as I progress.

how big is the fusion in comparison to a trex 550?
a trex 550 is a compact 600 and a fusion 50 is a stretched 600 so just wondering what the size difference will be.
i already have a trex 550

here a little tip that will save you guys TONS of aggravation only use a 1 inch long and the width of the outside edge ..strip of Velcro on each side on the out side edges ...if you put any velcro in the middle of the battery tray its a Bitch to take you lipos in and out.......very very small amount a velcro is needed if any ....there three spots for straps so you really don't need any really if you don't want
