I took my stratus for a hover. I noticed the engine is reving, but the RPM is very low. When I inspected the gear. I found that if I would hold the blades and increase the RPM the main gear turns. Now when I took out the two screws that go under the main gear on the out side of the sprag ( between the main gear and the black ring) I didn't notice any indentaion where these screws grab to. I once took the screws and applied locktite. It worked for a while. Is there a way to fix this problem. Thanks

a. Bond steel sleeve to autohub with red locktite and grind flats if there aren't any (they are probably still there, just not over the holes anymore).

b. Send it back.

c. Beat it with a sledge hammer and buy a new one.

Rada,
If the sleeve has slipped. The flats for the set screws have moved away from the holes. If you position the flats where the set screws will grab on them. Install the set screws and tighten them down and the unit should be fine. The set screws will hold for a while where there is no indents. But not for long.

Hi david, I took the unit apart. I see now the flat spot you mentioned on the unit. should I reposition them and reinsert the screws, or send the unit to jeff for service?

I would just position the flat spots where the set screws will go against the flats. That is all Jeff will do at MA if you send the unit to him.
The flats are there to keep the sleeve in place when the set screws are tightened against them.
