Please could someone, give me a tuning procedure to get the best power out of my engine and also explain why the hover needs to be set up on the halfway mark on the carb :?:
Cheers in advance

The mark on the carb for the hover range is actually 40% of the barrel opening.
Low End needle in carb barrel= affects the idle and transistion and also controls mixture from 0 to about 30% barrel opening, does affect the mid range needle.
Mid Range needle longest needle= affects the mixture from about 30% to 60% barrel opening, also this needle affects the high range needle
High range needle controls the mixture from about 60% barrel opening to 100%.
I set the low end to idle as rich as possible and the transistion to be smooth
Then I set the mid range needle so that the engine runs nicely in a hover, this is done with the carb barrel open right at the 40%.
The thing about hovering with the barrel open at the 40% mark, is if it is open much more than that. The mixture will be trying to mix between the high and mid range and the mixture will be screwed up.
Then once you have the low and mid range set correctly, then you can adjust the high end to the mixture needed.
